The only problem with Trump is that he says out loud, loudly and to the world, what the GOP has only whispered, intimated and dog-whistled since the mid-60s. Don’t feel bad, Donald, they earned you.
" but you’ve got to get used to it,"
You mean GOP being “TEABAGGED” ?
I’m starting to warm up to this guy I mean he’s a terrible person and shouldn’t be allowed anywhere near American government, but his read of the tactics and the political situation is absolutely right.
The RNC gave Trump the long end of very big stick and he’s used it to full advantage, and he’s managed to exploit their total cravenness and cynicism toward their own voters. And of course now they want out, not for any particularly well thought-out reason other than he would probably cost them the election, and now they find he’s blocked the exits and even if he loses his stink is all over them for years to come.
What you present is the logical democrat version of events. This time around logic has been shredded, mangled, thrown under several buses and then fried on an automatic rifle barrel.
People will see R’s or D’s next to names and then vote reflexively. The repubs show up in consistently higher numbers than democrats do, especially in no-presidential elections. This time around I am not at all sure that Hillary or Bernie can pull this off. I would not be surprised if millions of concerned democrats think to themselves “Someone else will take care of this yahoo. He cannot win. He’s too full of derp to win so I’ll just stay home and watch the election returns on TV.”… And then lo and behold the republicans win again.
Trump may have 15 million ardent followers but there are significant millions of people who would rather eat glass shards than vote for a democrat no matter how awful the republican candidate is. I have relatives in that category.
No apology from the Donald for attracting and amplifying the right-wing crazy-quotient to a snarling fever pitch, as illustrated by this zealous Trump supporter*, whose obvious obliviousness to her 180 degree misplaced irony-filled rage is emblematic of the self-sustaining collateral damage from the kind of xenophobic rhetoric expounded by Trump and allowed to flourish by the Republican down-line. (Whew!) Ugly is on the rise.
"He lies to me! I know he’s lying! He lies all the time!
You are warming up to Trump?
Somebody dial 911!!!
Smelling salts needed on aisle 5!!!
WHAT!!??!! NO Cup??!!??
If they had started being sensible on that day you mention, maybe being honest with their supporters, we might be wondering right now if there were a Democrat out there strong enough to deny President Huntsman a second term, especially since we’d be admitting that although we wished he were stronger on climate change, generally he’s actually not that bad. Instead he’s running a think tank on international relations, won’t go near politics and I can’t blame him.
Precisely right. All those years of The Southern Strategy, Luntz-speak, and every other vile activity they’ve practiced has finally come to fruition – they just weren’t smart enough to understand what they were going to achieve. But today they would rather blame Trump, wringing their hands in despair, than admit what they have wrought. The Donald knows it, he just enjoys having the spotlight too much to point out what a massive failure their strategy has been.
Not only is Trump a hate filled internet thread running for president but he’s the ultimate concern troll. “Nice political party you have there, wouldn’t want anything to happen to it now…”
And garden-tender asparagus. Mmmm. Save room for a wafer-thin mint!
It happens to lots of xenophobes…,really,it’s no big deal. Wanna get some FroYo?
Donald Trump needs to slide on down to the Triple Rock and check out Reverend Cleofus!
In everything that Trump says or does, he is the King of the Pig People! Everything!
To quote rwlorenz;
Everything that Trump believes is true because he is Trump. His supporters believe everything he says because he is Trump.
With his rejection of refugees Trump has turned his back on the Statue of Liberty and all she represents and all those people who came thru Ellis Island. Liberty also represents our alliance with France, the 1st ally we had.
Now he says he’s sorry.
Donnie, you should quit and crawl back under your YUUUGE and oh so classy rock.
What a shameful mammal.
Lobster on top?
How gauche!
But other than that it’s time for:
Nom (chews), nom nom, nom (swallows)…
If that’s not a size extra-small then I call bullshit on that jock strap.
Everyone knows tRump supporters only come in one puny size.
