Discussion: Trump Thrills SC Crowd with Tall Tale of Horrific War Crime

Religion and magic–a holy alliance.

I think we should spread the word that wearing a pork sausage necklace will keep Muslims away. Of course the sausage will have to be changed occasionally at the discretion of the wearer.

Although, truth be known, magic has infinitely more credence.

TPM:

Trump says waterboarding is “minimal, minimal, minimal torture” compared with the tactics used by Islamic State militants.

So, in other words, Trump wants to turn the US into a “mini-mini-mini-IS.”

Oh yea. my first boyfriend was named Philip, lover of horses. Mea culpa.

Funny you should mention Vlad the Impaler. Thing about Vlad is, if he did it, it isn’t apocryphal. (Smiles in sinisterly sentimental reminiscence.)

P.S. Trump’s just an idiot. He’s a sloppy, stupid, childish half-wit. If even a fraction of the voters think for a moment he’d be a good President we really have a problem with our educational system. I’ve read all the pundits about anger and post-industrial anxiety and shifting demographics and Caucasian ressentiment and all that. The main problem is they’re idiots too. This is a Science Fact.

OT, but I’ve been fascinated with real “vampires” such as Vlad since I’ve been a teenager.

He was not a nice person.

He was a perfectly awful person. He had kind of a crummy childhood but at some point you really need to shake that off, be responsible for yourself, and stop impaling people all the time. It just creates more problems than it solves, impaling.

hmm… I’m going to go out on a limb here and posit that a President Trump would be unlikely to add the US to the ICC (International Criminal Court aka The Hague). that pesky “crimes against humanity” would be a bit of an inconvenience.

and I’m disappointed that Obama didn’t already sign on

The Balangiga massacre and looting is still celebrated by the US Army. Today.

The mass slaughter in the Philippines that the US military brought in order to deny Philippine independence is forgotten by most. Just like all the modern day massacres are slowly forgotten. Who really remembers that it was just a short time ago that Israelis were massacring Gaza. Lebanon. The US and its “friends” . . . . a long sordid rape and thieving of the world.

The Army still has the church bells they stole from the local church after the massacres. Proudly displayed at more than one US Army facility.

God damn it, this stuff bothers me. So I’ve got a response, and you could argue it’s off topic but I’ll argue it isn’t. The United States has always had a strain, a part of its DNA, that’s multicultural, that’s inclusive, that’s tolerant, that’s high-minded and magnanimous. Some of the things that many of us love the most about this country come out of that. So without further ado, The Meters, one of the best bands ever to come out of New Orleans, doing Hey Pocky A-Way in 1980. This is America too, always was, more and more always will be. If the scared and angry people are having a last hurrah, it’s because they know that. But the happy people party better, just sayin’…
