That didn’t take long at all.

“Wow, I didn’t see this coming,” said nobody ever.

Good thing General Kelly is there to bring order out of the chaos at the White House.

This is so easy.

Now our mental/emotional depression will be paired with an economic one.

And the GOP watches idly while the country drowns.

And I am sure they will gladly recoup their losses by laying off or firing thousands of workers who have decent jobs at the plants these foreign auto companies built in the American South.
Man, this motherfucking winning is killing me!

Is it better to make international policy decisions based upon a temper tantrum, or because they will line your personal pockets?
Either way, the GOP remains silent.

Simply wiping out the tiny short-term benefits of his tax cut for the middle class (that in the long-term explodes the national debt and threatens our solvency) with a trade war that increases costs for everyone shows how irredeemably stupid Trump is. For him everything short-term and self-focused. For short-term-focused Americans he blusters attractively. He laughs at good sense. Our children and grandchildren will weep. Even without the Russian connection, he is a threat to our lives. Exorcise this demon now!

And this is why no one wins a trade war.

Yes, I agree! Totally-Not-Racist-Whatsoever General John Kelly has been such a steadying influence. After all, he has kept Trump from nuking Papua New Guinea.

Sorry Dumpster but a Trade War is not the Wag-The-Dog moment you think it is, it will not be the distraction you desire…

Yeah, go back and read the fine print - he never actually said who would be winning, now did he? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

BTW, I see a lot of people commenting on how stupid this sort of thing is, and sure, I happen to think Cadet Bonespurs is spectacularly stupid, but I suggest looking at his actions from a different perspective. Suppose that instead of him deciding all this stupidity on his own, what If he were being directed, influenced or just nudged into all this madness? I mean really, a trade war with the EU?

Vlad and his band of Muskovite Mafia must have broken out the Stolichnaya by now…

Just like I said yesterday - can’t wait til we’re embargoed. And that should be about next Tuesday the way this is going.

This is such a great example of my primary take on Trump: No real ideology, just a chaotic mind and ‘retro’ instincts.

“They make it impossible for our cars (and more) to sell there. Big trade imbalance!”

The design teams at Ford and GM have more to do with that than the EU Governments, Dotart. (Didn’t mention Chrysler, since they are owned by Fiat.)

Does he not know that some “European” cars are made here in America?
