The business with the tarp and then the ship moved to ‘block’ the McCain from view THEN turning away the sailors from his M&G…it IS disgusting, it is TRULY disgusting.

I remember the first time he went after McCain for ‘not’ being a hero and I actually cried.

I want to know, all the MAGA hats that are given to our military whenever he is visiting someplace: do officers ever tell the troops that it is NOT permissible for them to be wearing ‘campaign materials’ or IS it ok?

At the very least, somebody in the White House knows how insecure, thin skinned and petty Trump is.

So a tarp was draped over the USS John S. McCain* and a barge was positioned to partially obscure the warship.

Cockholster claims he didn’t ask the Navy to cover-up the USS McCain’s name.

The White(s Only) House says it made the request but claims it never asked the Navy to “hide” the McCain or to “disinvite” any of her crew to attend the ceremony.

Acting Secretary of Defense Shanahan imitates Sgt. Hans Georg Schultz and claims he “knows nothing, nothing” but would like to know more.

The only question now is: Which career US Naval Officer will be designated as the scapegoat and have a heretofore distinguished career summarily extinguished for following “orders from the top”?

*Despite popular notions, the USS John S. McCain wasn’t named solely for Sid McCrashcup. She was christened to honor Sid’s grandpa, Adm. John S. McCain Sr., and his daddy, John S. McCain Jr., as well as the faux maverick Senator from Arizona.

Good question. And no, it is not permissible for any of the armed forces to wear campaign paraphernalia while on duty, especially while in uniform.

ETA: Someone suggested earlier that Cadet Bones Spurs’ rank (pun intended) is Chief Petty Officer. I believe that should actually be Chiefly Petty Officer.
