Is anyone surprised by this?

This is the GOP in a nutshell.

Yet Ana Navarro is still suffering from Stockholm Syndrome and remains in the GOP fold.

No. It is the way they think, but when the camera goes blank I bet he has unkind words for her.

Well I think you can be an American and also a Latino but if you want to be a Republican and also a Latino, forget about it.

Said the rich white guy.

Why do any minority persons support the GOP?

With all this digging, he could’ve dug us a moat by now instead of running around promising to build a wall.

See? Rigid right-wing ideology is indistinguishable from STUPIDITY and RACISM.

Navarro is an American, a Latino and a Republican. Lord is an American, a Republican and a repulsive prick. Issue settled.

You left out the obvious: a white guy.

According to the GOP, every American must now personally identify as a old white business owning upper-middle-class God-fearing family man. There’s no way they lose then!

“Conservative commentator Jeffrey Lord got into an on-air argument with
Republican strategist and CNN contributor Ana Navarro on Monday after he
suggested that she could not be an American and a Latina at the same
time.”

Face it. Among conservatives reality just gets in the way.
The derp is getting thick…
Can a person be of English extraction and be an American? how bout Nigerian or Afghani or (gasp) Irish??
This is giving me a head ache.

“There are no Latinos in this country, there are no African-Americans. We are all Americans.”

Welp, I guess these organizations can now disband. I’m sure it will be a relief to them that they can now dispense with the drudgery of trying to maintain cultural allegiance to two countries at the same time.

Just because Jeffy doesn’t see hyphenated Americans does not mean they do not exist. He is after all a “Stupid-American.”

Unfortunately, we cannot get some people to understand that selling out their ethnicity for the price of a tax break ends up hurting them badly.

It was stupid to praise all the Latinos in this country, then suggest Americans can’t be Latino. But I wish they’d extended that clip. I wanted to know what “the point” was.

Ms Navarro seemed to have been coached to be confrontational. I agree with her sentiments, but her interrupt-and-yell approach is merely a headline-grab and doesn’t help move the discussion forward. I suspect it’s CNN’s way of competing for ratings with the Maury Povich style of panels that FOXnooz has been airing lately.

…this is misleading. He doesn’t mean he doesn’t believe she is Latino… he was trying to say there are no such thing as ‘hyphenated’ Americans. that we are all ‘american’. That’s the new conservative trope.

precisely

“… We are all Americans.”

OK. But some distinctions do remain.
Where Ms Navarro is most certainly a Latina?
Mr Lord is most certainly a RWNJ.
