How about your intelligence? That’s been repeatedly insulted. So join the club. : )
Trump continued:
“I remember this one time, during a late-night commercial incursion across the Palm Beach border, when I led a team of frightened, young attorneys deep into the competition’s territory, to secure a strategic piece of industrial real estate.”
“One of my team – a young lawyer from the Upper East Side, with a wife and kids and his whole life ahead of him – took a paper cut right across the thumb. I saw the whole thing right in front of me. It was horrible! I had flashbacks and nightmares for weeks.”
“All of us in this room have witnessed awful, life-changing tragedies like this in the heat of action…but we’re the strong ones, aren’t we?”

Thanks! That makes me feel much better!
OT…but another shoe dropped a few minutes ago: Trump Foundation Ordered to Cease and Desist in New York
New York Attorney General's Office Issues Notice Of Violation
Directing Trump Foundation To Cease And Desist New York Solicitations
NEW YORK – On Friday, September 30, the Office of New York
State Attorney General Eric Schneiderman issued a Notice of Violation to
the Donald J. Trump Foundation (“Trump Foundation”) and directed the
entity to cease and desist from soliciting contributions in New York.
The notice states that the Trump Foundation “is in violation of
section 172 of Article 7-A New York’s Executive Law, which requires
charitable organizations that solicit contributions in New York State to
register with the Charities Bureau and to provide annual financial
reports and annual audited financial statements.” Despite failing to
register pursuant to Article 7-A, the Trump Foundation solicited
contributions in New York State earlier this year, in violation of New
York law.
The notice directs the Trump Foundation to “immediately cease
soliciting contributions or engaging in other fundraising activities in
New York” and “to provide the [AG’s] Charities Bureau with the
information specified in Section 172 within fifteen (15) days” of
receiving the notice.
The Notice of Violation is available here.
How very Patton-esque of you, HO. I didn’t know it was Slap a PTSD Vet Day.
Trump promised “very, very robust level of performance having to do with mental health.”
Can someone please tell me what in the hell that means? More word salad and means nothing, it’s just gibberish.
Just on this one small thread on a lefty blog, five commenters are veterans, with four describing combat experiences. I think the idea that all vets are supporting Trump is mistaken.
Well, the “outreach” continues. He just can’t help himself, his obvious insecurity and overcompensation will spell the death knell for his “scampaign.” I am overjoyed; just keep talking, Donny. What an ass.
I’m searching my brain for a justifiable reason, and I can’t come up with any. All I can say is that Navy SEAL Marcus Latrell, who was the subject of The Lone Survivor book/movie in case you’re not familiar with him, and a man that although we disagree politically, and that’s putting it mildly, I have great respect for, is on record calling Dubya a great leader, and is a strong Trump supporter, as well. Many vets/active military have bought into this lie that Republicans are strong leaders and Democrats weak. And they can’t be moved off it. It’s ingrained in them. How they can hear this and be okay with it, numbs me. This was a moment of candor that reveals what Trump really thinks. Anyone thinking there is a benign bone in his body is sorely mistaken.
“People come back from war and combat and they see things that maybe a lot of the folks in this room have seen many times over,” Trump said in an address to the Retired American Warriors in Herndon, Virginia. “And you’re strong and you can handle it, but a lot of people can’t handle it.”
What he’s referring to is a Chiselin’ Trump campaign rally. And, yes, a lot of people don’t have whatever it takes to make it through one of those.
Trump hasn’t got the 1st clue about what our troops have gone thru.
Not.one.fucking.clue.
And yet he manages to insult those who have been wounded. And changed. For whatever reason.
There are times I am very glad I don’t reside in NYC for it prevents me from hanging out at the Trump Tower conjuring nasty things to do to him.
The one thing I can do is to vote for Hillary
That was the most powerful thing I’ve read on the Internet in a long, long time.
This coming from someone who hasn’t seen a day of military service, much less combat.
Just when I think he can’t sink any lower.
Well, at least he’s lost the vet vote with this.
Follows nicely on his earlier in the session stated admiration for Patton. The cringeworthiness of it all…
Another example of Trump’s genius. Getting people to give money to an unregistered foundation, and then using their money for personal expenses. He’s so bright you need sunglasses to gaze upon him.
Trump does indeed display all the showman’s bluster and, of course, the lack of empathy Patton showed when he slapped the serviceman, and Trump does it without having any of the bravery or loyalty and service to country.
What a friggin’ doofus.
The reason Trump doesn’t understand PTSD is that he is incapable of caring for anyone other than himself.
For most vets, it isn’t the risk or injury to themselves, it is the loss of their comrades that keeps them awake at night. There is always the question you ask yourself, why did I survive.
Then the is the psychological cost of killing others, especially when you discover after the fact that the terrorist bomb factory was actually a hospital. And even if you are absolutely sure that all the people you killed were ‘bad guys’, there is the sneaking suspicion that there is a karmic price for their deaths and that if you aren’t paying it one of your comrades did.
And then there is not wanting to talk about it because if you did then people might want to pity you or worse think you are some kind of hero.
