Really, Donald?

  1. This is not confirmed by the company.
  2. A company doesn’t make a move such as this in a short time – this requires a whole lot of conferencing, discussion, analysis and we all know this doesn’t happen over night.

Do we have four years of fake news coming from the president? His followers will believe him and they are already beyond redemption.

Unfortunately, Trump will begin creating a lot of real news on Jan. 20.

Agree. Why is he making an announcement and not, say, Sprint? It’s so important to him to be credited with everything good. But we must suspend belief until it’s verified.

Rick Wilson’s Twitter feed has a RT of exactly that.

A gal asked her father about what caused her father’s job to RIF folks.

Her father replied ‘automation’ and she just said thanks and that was that.

Without tRump announcing his candidacy for higher office…

Gravitational waves would have never finally been detected ----

With out tRump … black holes would be satisfied existing …

Now they are trying to " get out while they can " —

I am probably not the only person who is much more interested in sending a man to Mars since the election: not just any man----someone very special and powerful.

One small side of a very big story. “5.5 million vacant jobs, some with starting pay of over $100,000 a year.” Fantasy.

Trump will complete the destruction of the middle class and that destroys demand for good. Maybe some of these skills you write about will be needed for war. Otherwise you are dreaming.

Because he’s an intractable emotional and political parasite who sucks the marrow from the bones of labor and draws self serving sustenance from the accomplishments of others, but that’s just my observation.

Is this the beginning of a boycott-Sprint movement? I hope so. There has to be some disincentive to do this sort of thing.

Nice call! We could even call it the Slobo-Don.

They don’t need the problems that would come along with a 501© simply for upsetting Drumpf. A simple twitter account will cause his brain to explode.

But I’m willing to bet they will continue to go high when Drumpf goes low. Good for them.

Softbank will work with Trump on whatever PR he wants because they want to make more acquisitions in the US and want to merge Sprint with another of the smaller cell behemoths, since their proposed merger with T-Mobile was rejected on anti-trust concerns in 2014. Merging Sprint to some other partner is a priority for Softbank because, when Softbank invested in Sprint it had to pay off or restructure a lot of Spring debt (Sprint was a junk rated company). As recently as this summer, Softbank’s debt was high enough that the press speculated about a potential downgrade. A Sprint deal could be a high octane liquidity event for Softbank. Not saying that’s the only play here, I am a nobody speculating from the outside, but it makes sense. No Spring deal can happen without the approval of the DOJ and FCC – not even if Sprint is merged with a company with no US operations. So, Softbank will work with Trump.

Intentionally or not, that’s what’s happening. A carrier has to compete on three dimensions: low phone price, low monthly price, and great coverage. In my area, at least, Sprint is honestly the loser in all three categories. So now they’re returning 5,000 jobs? To do what? Seriously, to do what? Lower their monthly? Lower their phone costs? Improve their coverage? I don’t see any of that happening. Off-shored workers weren’t responsible for any of that. Sprint is heading down the tubes due to greedy pricing, bad coverage, and bad marketing.

@marby—Cue the chanters: “Where’s MY job?” “Where’s MY job?” “Where’s MY job?” “Where’s MY job?”

Here’s what really happened:

“See what you can do about bringing some jobs back to the U.S.”

“We just did very recently, you know …”

“Wow, I’m good!”
