Hereâs my bet: The Mueller report will find that a lot of criminally inclined people orbited around Trump during the campaign and after, but there is insufficient evidence that Trump was aware of or encouraged it. The strong implication will be that Trump is naive and easily manipulated by his sycophants and allowed, through neglect, the criminality around him to happen. Trump, not being a believer in the âCaptain/Shipâ idea of leadership, will claim victory and âdesubbustrateâ selected minions.
SDNY and NYAG and other spin off Mueller cases continue.
The key point on âevidence of collusionâ is that the DOJ will not disclose collusive activity in its report unless it has resulted in an indictment. In other words, there could very well be a shitload of evidence of coordination between the Trump campaign/transition/administration and Russians, but the absence of an indictment will mean that evidence will not see the light of day.
In narrow legal termsâwhich Rosenstein is loudly asserting will be appliedâthat may be correct. But in practical and political terms, bearing in mind the enormous public importance of fair and loyal elections, such non-disclosure will amount to a coverup. That is the narrative that Dems should be pushing now: the American people will not accept a coverup of any kind. Publishing the full report is not sufficient. The report must disclose every fact and matter reliably established. Itâs insane that Democrats are permitting Rosenstein and the GOP to narrow the scope of the report without any kind of pushback. The job of politicians isnât simply to be virtuous legislators, itâs to influence the direction of the country. Dems, by their over-cautious, hyper-virtuous, nonpartisan posture, are setting us up for a potentially calamitous reverse. âNo coverupâ should be a huge thing at this point.
Iâm impressed. Thatâs the right answer. And it only took him since before Mueller was appointed to give it. Maybe heâs finally learning not to telegraph his fears in public. Or more likely, he was just thinking about his schedule when he was interrupted and thatâs why he started rambling about it because he has no filter and his brain has trouble shifting gears.
My bet is that it will be silent about all the satellite crooks, save to the extent that those crooks have been/will be prosecuted, in which case the narrative will be contained in the indictments. If Kushner isnât prosecuted, there will simply not be a word said about him. Ditto Trump.
My hope is that Mueller is telling Rosenstein/Barr: Iâm OK with a terse, narrow report, but only if Iâm allowed to indict Kushner-Trump Jr etc without political fear or favor. Otherwise I will report the matter to Congress.
I donât understand why anyone cares about Mueller. Back when Republicans controlled both houses of Congress, Mueller was our only hope after Comey got fired. But they were both by-the-book Republicans who didnât want to uncover anything they didnât need to and only caught Trump because heâs a grifting moron who could only hire grifters and morons because nobody else wanted the job.
But now that Democrats control the House, Mueller is just the appetizer before the main course. The smartest thing establishment Democrats could do would be to put Trump deep in the fryer to appease the far-lefties who care more about attacks than accomplishments. They like the Pelosi who stands up to Trump more than the Pelosi who passed Obamacare. Might as well give them what they want and weâll end up with both Pelosis after 2020.
Then the House doubles down on its investigations, to bring everything into the light of day even if it doesnât lead to a conviction. And the SDNY continues its work, and the State of New York does what it can. There are other gears turning if Mueller doesnât indict anyone else, or the report is somehow buried.
My theory is that Trumpâs recent, very severe episode of decompensation has nothing to do with Mueller.
Rather, its the attention that the Epstein/Acosta scandal has been generating. I mean, Trump has already immunized himself against much of the negative impact of Mueller â absent evidence of him handing a list of intelligence assets to Putin, Pelosi isnât going to allow impeachment proceedings.
So what could be worse than Mueller? Epstein/Acosta
The Mueller Probe has 60+% approval. That approval is NOT given with the idea of what would be seen as a coverupâŚor something which could be spun by Trump and the GOP as a vindication of Trump.
Most people believe that Trump is culpable w/r/t/ Trump/Russia. For a âReportâ to come out which flies AGAINST thatâŚthat would be catastrophic.
For this reason, and the reality that Trump, Rudy, his other lawyers and his P.R. team have at their disposal a powerful weapon (public impression management), leads me to believe that most (if not all) of this âThe Mueller Report is Coming Soonâ business is coming from the Trump camp.
Madison Avenue is not a bad venue to learn public impression psyops.
Yes, that would be fine (and I think, that process is rolling) but thatâs not Muellerâs job.
I still miss some focus on the Mercers/CambridgeAnalytica-election medling, I hope for something happening here. KAC is, AFAIK, a Mercer henchman.

Company confirms suspicions of separate incident following Washington DC attorney general court filing Facebook acknowledges concerns over Cambridge Analytica emerged earlier than reported | Cambridge Analytica | The Guardian
Facebook employees were aware of concerns aboutâimproper data-gathering practicesâ by Cambridge Analytica months before the Guardian first reported, in December 2015, that the political consultancy had obtained data on millions from an academic. The concerns appeared in a court filing by the attorney general for Washington DC and were subsequently confirmed by Facebook.
The new information âcould suggest that Facebook has consistently mislead [sic]â British lawmakers âabout what it knew and when about Cambridge Analyticaâ, tweeted Damian Collins, the chair of the House of Commons digital culture media and sport select committee (DCMS) in response to the court filing.
In a statement, a company spokesperson said: âFacebook absolutely did not mislead anyone about this timeline.â
After publication of this article, the spokesperson acknowledged that Facebook employees heard rumors of data scraping by Cambridge Analytica in September 2015. The spokesperson said that this was a âdifferent incidentâ from Cambridge Analyticaâs acquisition of a trove of data about as many as 87m users that has been widely reported on for the past year.

A spokeswoman for the UKâs Information Commissionerâs Office said, âWe are aware of these reports and will be considering the points made as part of our ongoing investigation.â
this is a very real danger, especially when one considers the kind of evidence that would yield an indictment would probably require disclosure of âsources and methodsâ during discovery, and at trial.
unfortunately, Mueller is so âby the bookâ that he probably wouldnât issue an indictment he would subsequently withdraw because he knows he could not bring to trial without compromising national security
Donât be surprised if some random Tuesday we learn the report is transmitted to main DOJ. But, it will be done discreetly.
Everyone take a deep breath and relax.
Except Fat Donny. He has likely been advised of key points that have become clear. Additionally, he clearly understands where Manhattan and SDNY are headed. And, he know he has no power over those outcomes.
That all being calmly said, FOR GODâs sakes House Dems. Stop talking and giving everyone two weeks. Give these bastards until Monday to produce documents and if not, issue subpoenas on Tuesday. And send Marshals on Thursday.
If Iâm not mistaken, there are protocols for using classified material in a civil trial by jury. Iâm sure classified sources were involved in some of the indictments already handed down by grand juries in the Mueller probe, and those juries wouldnât have had security clearances.
Listen to this president long enough, and you can almost sense when a lie is coming. If Trump tells a story in which an unnamed person calls him âsir,â itâs probably invented. If Trump claims he has set a record, he probably hasnât. If Trump cites any number at all, the real number is usually smaller.
Add to this, when he says âno idea,â heâs lying again.
