Itâs like a doctor telling you you have 6 months to live but ânothing to worry aboutâ now.
Itâs amazing how insulated this man is from the actual life of any person who has ever worked a day in their life. Your house burned down? Thatâs okay, go stay in the vacation house while you get the primary rebuilt!
Weâve had a lot of tone-deaf Republican presidents and presidential candidates over the years, but my God. âDonât worry, youâre not being deported yetâ absolutely takes the cake. Itâll be hard to top, but I have faith in Donald Trump.
And we all know that when Donald Trump makes a promise, he will keep it! Rest easy, Dreamers.
Hopefully in six months, weâll have a different President.
If Donnie says âdonât worryâ, be very, very worried.
Robert Mueller says Trump has nothing to worry about for 6 months.
On one hand, hope so too. On the other hand, I sincerely doubt Mikey would have any problems siccing vigilante squads armed with address information out to arrest all of those brown people.
When Republicans keep repeating their talking point about âweâre a nation of lawsâ, I hope the injustice of the Arpaio pardon gets out there loud and clear. The guy should be in jail. The dreamers should not be the pawns when elected officials canât get their act together.
Oh FFS, shut the f**k up.
You have ended the program and upended their lives. Leave them be.
I am enraged by this âlet them eat cakeâ tweet.
Tell a guy sitting on death row with an execution date of March 7th, 2018 âYou donât have anything to worry about for the next six months!! Just go about your normal business and let us work on what happens after that.â
For all of those (DACA) that are concerned about your status during the 6 month period, you have nothing to worry about - No action!
Thatâs reassuring. A death row prison warden couldnât have said it better.
I see @steviedee111 beat me to it.
Similarly, âCongress has six months to fix itâ does not inspire much besides dread.
Trump couldnât sell aluminum siding.
Trump will tie any DACA legislation to funding for his wall.
All they are going to do is worry.
There are already 4 bills being submitted, ranging from Coffman (R-CO)'s bill which basically keeps DACA in place for 3 years so Congress can figure out a longer term solution (ie, kicking the can. Coffman is extremely worried about his re-election), to The American Hope Act submitted by Guiterrez (D-IL), which doesnât have the military/work requirements the other bills has and provides for the fastest path to citizenship (5 years).
The American Hope Act already has 112 Democratic co-sponsors.
In between we have the Durbin/Graham bill and one that Curbelo (R-FL) has submitted, which are basically the same, and very similar to DACA, but vary a bit in their path to citizenship time lines. The WH has already indicated they arenât interested in backing either of those bills.
Yep this doesnât mean that ICE wonât pick up and detain you until deferment has expired of 6 months is up.
Or, like having a doctor tell you: âI wouldnât worry about that lump. After all, itâs on you, not me.â
What will Ryan allow to reach the floor?
