I think it is safe to say that Hogan would get eaten alive in a Republican primary. I didn’t vote for him for governor (in either of his races), but he is not nearly crazy enough for the current crop of Republican voters. (The basis for his personal appeal eludes me entirely. Part of it, I suspect, is that he isn’t an obviously crazy right-winger in a state that is heavily dominated by Democrats, and there is a certain natural, if often misguided, tendency to want to balance out the sides.)
Trump isn’t running again. All bluff. All bluff.
I checked Google Images, and yes, the fat bald guy at the mics is Larry Hogan.
No, but he’ll continue to raise money for 2020 anyway. Now that the government is open again, he’ll probably need a red hat rally or two to boost his spirits. Where does the money go if he doesn’t run again? I don’t see him donating it to the party.
The state of Maryland flag should have been a clue, but I wouldn’t recognize every state flag, and no reason to assume that anyone else would either. (I do like captions on an image.) He was always heavy, but has put on a lot of weight since his cancer treatments.
Oh, so that’s who that is. I thought maybe Glenn Beck had eaten Lou Dobbs.
I thought it was Dr. Who’s sidekick, Nardole.
The GOP is so lost, so compromised and so corrupt that there’s no bottom to the low-life rethug voters might nominate. It’ll be amazing to watch as the crazy gets ratcheted up to a level never seen. To “out crazy” Trump will take a serious effort, but the GOP base will be there to lap it up.
Is his nickname “Hulk?”
Don’t you mean “Bulk”?
There is no one in the GOP capable of governing the country based on fact/evidence based policy. Full Stop! Perhaps in a generation or so, but not now. Failure of governance waiting to happen on all fronts.
They just proved that the last two years. They did NOTHING while they were in charge of everything.
I don’t know that he has any choice. The Presidency is the only protection he has against a hailstorm of legitimate criminal investigations.
That $1.5 trillion tax cut for billionaires was a pretty big deal. They did their level best to gut the EPA. They’ve packed the judiciary.
None of that helps the dirt-poor racists who are often thought of as Trump’s base, but (1) that doesn’t prevent them from mistakenly believing they love it, and (2) a lot of folks who support Trump are well-off criminals or criminal wannabes who were eager to see the town sheriff murdered so they could get on with the pillaging.
I didn’t keep track of all of Trump’s campaign “promises,” but I don’t think it’s accurate to say that the Koch administration hasn’t accomplished anything just because it failed to pass much legislation.
My guess is that he’ll say he is going to up until the point where he wrecks anyone else’s chances (yay for that) and then decides his “business empire” needs him more.
The famed Republican deep bench. Not exactly presidential timber. More like laminated wallboard. Where’s Marco?
I also did a Beck double-take.
Fine you can take that view but the fact is that while Paul Ryan was Speaker they passed a tax cut. That is it. They did NOTHING else.
