Discussion: Trump Quickly Hits Back At Corker After Sen. Makes Morning News Show Rounds

Senator Corker, while you clearly have no more fucks to give, please don’t descend into schoolyard name-calling with this asshole. Leave that to us.

Slightly OT but still about trump’s inability to SHUT UP at every criticism.
An open letter from CNN’s Don Lemon nails it:

trump never grew past the school yard bully stage.

Can someone move from name calling to actual action to remove the President from office?

I’m torn on whether it’s worth it for Corker to respond to trump’s nonsense. To quote JayZ, “dont argue with fools, because from a distance people can’t tell who is who.” But on the other hand, alertthedaycarestaff is an absolutely hilarious hashtag.

and now is only negative on anything Trump

On anything Trump? Not, ‘on me’, or ‘on my Administration’, or ‘on the Whitehouse’, but on anything Trump.

The Dear Leader believes that America is trump, the government is trump, the nation is full of trump supporters, and everything he touches is trump.

There must be a strategy behind this, but I’m not sure what it is. To keep Trump off guard? To become Trump’s target in order to spare others, like Mrs. Johnson and Rep. Wilson? To distract Trump’s easily distracted mind from more important issues like NK?..

Two legal ways
Amendment 25 clause 4… the Cabinet and Vice President remove him.
or
Impeachment which requires a bill outlining the articles passed in the House and sent to the Senate. Then in the Senate a trial is held. A super majority of Senators is required to convict.

This travesty has to end now!

Corker does have serious issues with the tax cut proposals, largely because he isn’t on board with the magic numbers and doesn’t want to explode the deficit.

So tactically, he is throwing Donald off kilter ahead of this meeting (which IS nothing more than a photo op). Its a shrewd move on his part and pretty much guarantees that any discussion of tax cuts is sidelined today.

This is promising. No slight from Corker is ignored. So when Rep. Cummings is back up to speed the two of them can tag-team the Commander-in-Cheat into a frenzy if they want to.

I agree to an extent, but when Republican Senators are made to look like fools I don’t lose much sleep.

Amendment 25: Article 4 requires a supermajority of both the House and the Senate to remove a sitting President.

" If the Congress, within twenty-one days after receipt of the latter written declaration, or, if Congress is not in session, within twenty-one days after Congress is required to assemble, determines by two-thirds vote of both Houses that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall continue to discharge the same as Acting President; otherwise, the President shall resume the powers and duties of his office."

The 25th is a path fraught with challenges as well, and has multiple points where the President can derail such an effort.

Impeachment is the best path forward, and the most likely.

I thought it was the House that was going to tie up the tax cuts anyway. Is that wrong?

This was nice. Best part was telling Trump that taking the anger of grieving families without fighting back is what HE signed up for when he ran for president.

Yes, bring on President Pence. He could name Marsha Blackburn his VP, then all would be better.

At this point, I think Corker is baiting him. Not sure what the point is - but I think it is bigger than simply “fighting back”, as that doesn’t fit Corker’s style, nor demeanor.

Keep him busy fomenting on twitter so he can’t do other thing? Nah, he has engaged in twitter rages and thrown Rocket Man monicker into the mix - sparking an escalation with North Korea.

Trying to get him to go so far over the edge in his treatment to try to wedge a few more senators away to try to prevent the whole party from becoming Trumpsters? Seems that train has left the station.

Not sure why - but at this point it seems that Corker is intentional. Why?

@pshah I admire your high-minded take on this. Maybe you’re right, in which case, bless ol’ Bob’s heart. But FFS doesn’t that jackass have anything else to do than watch the telly to see if anyone is dissing him?
