Trump is also reportedly less worried about the ramifications of impeachment on his legacy and more frustrated with what he sees as a Democratic effort to attack his legitimacy.
He is reported to roam the halls of the White House in the wee morning hours, dressed in his pijamas and white terry cloth bathrobe, mumbling “Out, out! Damn spot!”
Trump is also reportedly less worried about the ramifications of impeachment on his legacy and more frustrated with what he sees as a Democratic effort to attack his legitimacy.
That he is…for sure. And that passage–and, indeed, the entire article–was so contrived that I’m surprised that WAPO didn’t place it in the Comix section.
I think today we’re more focused on the fact that a bunch of randos on the internet are more knowledgeable and understanding of the wielding of power in Washington than are the experts who actually do it for a living, and less focused on the fact that Democrats are basically just Republican-lite, duuuuuuude, but my morning’s talking points and marching orders got a little garbled in their transmission from Doctor Jill Stein’s secret moon base
Hey, maybe we should point out to him that if he gets impeached and thrown out, future schoolchildren would never forget his name, rather than him disappearing into that grey cluster of “who dat?” presidents…
We see the world through the painful juice of an onion. This is the other ingredient in stone soup. Throw in a dash of fermented narcissism, and the flavor is even better.
Nothing says respectful debate so much as a mixture of ad hominem and straw men.
Good job standing with Trump there. I’m amazed at the mental contortions required to reach the end point of “impeaching the most criminal, least popular President in history is a bad idea”.
Slightly OT - but Trump’s comment that he would never allow the CIA to develop a high-value asset in North Korea like Kim’s half-brother is, at minimum, an impeachable offense, and close to treason if only because Congress never formally declared war.
Are Republicans being asked about this comment? Are any attempting to defend it? Has the WH walked it back at all yet?
Could be. Me, my perception is we’re moving toward an end state here where every article, no matter what the subject, calls forth the exact same set of tired bromides about the complicit media and feckless Dems we’ve come to know and not exactly love. So I’m just trying to help move us toward that, out of an excess of chumminess and desire to get along.
Somebody remind me how Trump got into the White House again? Was it because a unpopular candidate lost to an even less popular candidate because she followed a poor campaign strategy?
Or was it all because of “Doctor Jill Stein”?
Lol. Sorry, but the recent record of the Democratic Party does not inspire confidence. I don’t see much expertise there. I just see a long record of them proclaiming infinite wisdom about the nature of the electorate, followed by them getting their butts kicked in election after election. Culminating in the loss of a national election to the neophyte carnival barker criminal casino bankrupter.
But, sure. Let’s respect the “expertise” of the party leaders. Because they’ve sure got those Republicans on the ropes now!
