Obama left the federal agencies and the government in general in pretty good shape when he left office. Trump has taken a hammer to it, but so far itās only been dented here and there. I expect that, thanks to Obamaās legacy, the career federal managers responsible for disaster response will do their job and major fails will be avoided. I canāt speak for the state of Texas and their disaster response as I have no knowledge of their system. Lives will be saved and reconstruction will proceed at pace in spite of Trump, not because of him. Naturally, he will take every opportunity to puff himself up like a frigate bird, but who cares?

Kind of early for tRump to congratulate himself (and everyone else) for a fabulous response to a hurricane that just came ashore last night, is on the ground right now and still forecast to be a threat for several days. Maybe we should wait and see how well things get handled after the rains stop.
