Yes and he contradicted himself as to the need for the wall. On one hand border crossings are down by 81% but on the other hand more drugs in the history of the universe are coming across the border poisoning our children -record numbers. I’d give Trump a 'D" on this presser. He gave a reasonable statement about Harvey and the ongoing disaster but the rest of it was defending Arpaio, blaming Obama for Arpaio’s Federal contempt, defending the wall, defending a potential government shutdown, and Nafta is bad and so is Mexico, and he did not say- when asked- if Russia was a threat in the Baltic region. All he could muster was there are many threats like everywhere.

I occasionally hear the opinion expressed that he isn’t crazy. I’m sorry, but no, he’s crazy. This is pure marketing-guy relentless positive spinning being done in the world’s most serious job because Trump literally cannot acknowledge that anything he’s associated with or pretending to care about can have any kind of problem, any sort of lack or deficiency at all ever. Everything will always be beautiful and great and fantastic. And it will be that very soon. He’s de-lus-ion-al. He’s constantly, and for the most part successfully, fighting to keep reality from impinging on the mindscapes within his skull where everything’s perfect and fine and his daddy loves him unconditionally and he’s 34 and still pretty.

This is absolutely the best time for Democrats to draw a hard line in the sand, and demand recovery money be tied to an increase in the debt limit, and public guarantees that CONGRESS will fund Obamacare for the next two years.
But no we will pussy out, which is why we will lose. Because we are the adults, and they are the children. That’s why the children literally run the House, and the parents are laughed at by the children.
Winning takes hard, gutsy moves. We aren’t going to win Texas ever, so maybe this is the time for the Texan voter be held to the values they vote for by the Democratic Party. Hell, the Republican shell is sooooo thin, maybe this is what breaks them apart.
