This happens about every week in Republican World, one of their devotes blows their intolerance dog whistle too loud. Itâs not news, only confirmation of who they really are.
Trump had an affair with a porn star, publicly bragged about grabbing womenâs genitals, got pissed on by Russian call girls, implied John McCain was a coward, belittled a Gold Star family, said Hillary Clintonâs use of the bathroom was disgusting, said some white supremacists are good people, said an American Jurist of foreign lineage wasnât to be trusted, on and on and on. And all the above was reported, on televison, by assorted news outlets, causing little to no apparent lasting damage to Trumpâs âimageâ. He is widely known as devoid of redeeming qualities, so what the hell is it that can be reported that will sink his standing? Seems like damn little dents his image to me.
This is a small part of what really concerns me about Trumpâs worship of the military (along with a large part of America) and the current predisposition to fill all of the seats of power with ex-military guys and count on them to hold Trump back and do the right thing. I am an old fart and I do not remember a time in my life when we had this many career military people in positions of real power.
