Odds of impeachment / indictment / conviction?
100 percent…
Trump said the odds congressional negotiators will craft a deal to end his border wall standoff with Congress are “less than 50-50.”
I’m more interested in whether or not the senate repubs will be able to agree to compromise legislation and then override the WH occupant’s expected veto. Those repub senators facing reelection in 2020 have a better sense of their political futures than twitler has of his (his reelection chances are near zero without massive election fraud, imho).
That will be the telling point. If he vetoes a new spending bill and they override it, that indicates he is basically done and may not have enough support in the Senate to survive an impeachment vote. It will then be bye-bye to Spanky and hello state criminal charges whether he gets out with a federal pardon or not.
If Trump’s ongoing need to defend his little toad manhood by continuing to make threats, and imperative to sooth the cognitive dissonance from his narcissism by trying to make himself look like a “winner”, turns into action (closing the government again or declaring a national emergency) thank the good lord.
Few things would more undermine Trump than going back into the box canyon of a shut down. Even more people would blame him, and a bunch of folks in his own party (likely well over the 13 needed to pass a bill in the senate) would break from him. Trump is just turning off the few persuadable voters, and hardening everyone else to him, with the ongoing craziness over his racist meme of a wall.
One of the things I find interesting about his take on Congressional negotiations is that he doesn’t seem to see that he has any role to play in the process other than making threats. Negotiating–that is to say, engaging in a give and take with the other side–is not a skill he has, despite his claim of being a great negotiator.
It is probably true that the chances that they’ll come up with a deal that he will sign are less than 50-50, since he doesn’t have any actual goals other than to make himself look like a strongman.
“Build a wall, hands still too small.”
Trump has never been a man .
He pays to males to act like men who will then say Trump is a man.
Nah, unless it is a Rupert Murdoch outlet poll, Trump is at around 37%. Hell Politico/Morning consult has him at 37% and they slant a few points to Trump (538 corrects that to 34% approval).
And note that he will likely fall a few more points, but that fall (from people on his right wing) will not be a real fall, just the haters hating on Trump, they will still vote for the Nazi/KKK line come 2020.
Trump’s current problem is that his current rating comes from having lost 3-4% of the public who were moderate republicans/business republicans/conservative independents. These are the people turned off by the ongoing Trump crazy. Unlike his 25% base they are somewhat reality based, and Trump will lose more from this left side of his support if he does not move on.
Odds of Nancy Pelosi shoving 5 miles of beaded curtain border wall up your fat, clueless ass: +99.99999%.
Donald Trump is just showing America his undeniable manly-manhood. All 1.5 inches of it.
Sen. Roy Blunt, R-Mo. said that he thinks a compromise is possible.
“The president went from talking about a wall along the entire southern border at one point during the campaign … to let’s have barriers where they work and let’s have something else where barriers wouldn’t work as well,” Blunt said.
Sorry Roy boy when has the President tweeted that he’ll accept a “something else where barriers wouldn’t work”? And why would $5.7 billion be needed for this “something else”?
California Rep. Kevin McCarthy, the leading Republican in the House, said Democrats have funded border barriers in the past and are refusing this time simply because Trump is asking for it. “The president is the only one who has been reasonable in these negotiations,” he said.
This deserves some form of a response, but words that adequately capture this level of such profound ignorance and stupidity…AAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGHHHHHHH!!!
Here’s the thing:
By Law, the Senate can pass a clean spending (wall-less) bill. The Senate and House can override his veto.
So Drumpf is announcing that the GOP Congress is HIS.
This statement he is making also proves, beyond any doubt, that Donald Trump has absolutely no idea how to negotiate for either business or political purposes. He is totally about symbolic results and being portrayed as having beaten his opposition in any case.
He only made this statement because the universal perception is that he lost on the shutdown. He is not smart. He has no sense about how to go about realistically achieving his goals. He is stuck in the fake reality and vanity of The Apprentice.
Does anybody realize that we have walls or fences where they make sense already. The problem with America is nobody remembers what happened the last administration or the one before that.
Is Trump prepared to shut down the government again in three weeks?
Hey it doesn’t hurt him and he doesn’t really give a shit about any of his voters. His only concern for them is that they vote for him and truthfully I doubt he cares if he wins 2020 as I think he hates the job for the most part. He only likes the good publicity and that’s getting less everyday.
His great “negotiating prowess” involved mostly overpaying for properties. It’s like “winning” an auction on EBay. Anyone willing to fork over more than the thing is worth can do that.
And cheating. Cheating the legal labor force by bringing over non-union people from Ireland and Eastern Europe. Cheating on taxes. Cheating on Major Capital Improvements on his Dad’s existing rental properties. Cheating on his political campaign and fake election. The man is like Johnny Caspar in Miller’s Crossing. “What’s the world coming to if a man can’t trust a fixed fight?” Donald Trump only does fixed fights. Now that he does not have both legislative chambers, he no longer has the ability to fix his fights. My question is why didnt he insist on the Wall funding when he had a House majority? And why did he believe his sycophants’ and FOX’s perception that Nancy Pelosi would become the next “Crooked Hillary” media punching bag?
Tony Schwartz has acknowledged/confessed the whole art of the deal shtick was a made up BS persona that he concocted. Trump Org. is a two-bit shyster boiler room op that is used to launder rubles.
