Thanks, TPM!
The stuff he says is mind-boggling, but why should I be surprised?
No, President Delusion. It makes you and your incompetent criminal crew look bad.
Need I remind trump that he brought this on himself all by himself?
he asserted that he has the “absolute right to do what I want to do with the Justice Department
There’s no reason to be worried about this comment at all. 2018 will be awesome!
“Mueller Probe Makes U.S. ‘Look Very Bad,’”
“Trump makes U.S. Look Very Bad.”
FIFY
Are we really sure he knows the concept of “on the record” ?
Do they have a tape ? Must have, nobody stenographs these days…
His view of the DOJ is chilling. But I came away from this interview like the last few: the man is an immature child who is dangerous and yet easily manipulated.
Reflecting on this first year, I am struck by how little there is of a Trump agenda. Other than managing DHS like a racist asshole and taking a wrecking ball to our our alliances to placate Putin and to grift, there is no Trump agenda to speak of. He’s just racist vapor. He’s a Trojan horse manipulated by Ryan and McConnell. Our constitutional crisis exists because of the GOP. They’re trying to use every last piece of leverage to turn America back to the 1920s while they grift and bilk the public treasury for personal gain. There is no moral virtue in the GOP, no loyalty. They’re all traitors and Trump is their useful traitorous tool.
For 2018, Trump is a useful tool for Dems to get their vote out. Our real enemy, however, is the GOP.
And Mueller has the obligation to pursue criminal charges, donnie. So you go right ahead and make the job easier, mmmkay?
This is pretty funny/scary if no staff people knew about this.
My favorite bit from the interview:
(quote)
Mr. Trump disputed reports that suggested he does not have a detailed understanding of legislation, saying, “I know the details of taxes better than anybody. Better than the greatest C.P.A. I know the details of health care better than most, better than most.”
Later, he added that he knows more about “the big bills” debated in the Congress “than any president that’s ever been in office.”
(end quote)
He does “Dear Leader” mode so perfectly, it’s beyond caricature. Like Digby said about a recent “Fox and Friends” segment: “Watch irony commit suicide”.
Eric Holder didn’t “totally protect” the President because
a. he didn’t have to; Barack Obama is a man of character, unlike Trump.
b. that’s not his job. The Attorney General is supposed to uphold the Constitution.
Next they claim it was a “Donny Impersonator” who fooled the NYT… I hope they took a DNA sample
(One note, where was the Secret Service ? Shouldn’t they be within striking distance of Donald and this journalist ?
Isn’t it a bit strange the POTUS walk around unattended and unprotected ?)
At least some heads at the SS needs to roll …
By saying he thinks Mueller will be fair, he sets it up so that when there are more indictments he can say “I thought he would be fair, he has chosen not to be” and other such BS. No more complex than that, the man is a perpetual BS machine.
Probably not, I guess. THE NYT’s article states that the interview took place in the Grill Room at the golf club, and no aides were present. He sat with the reporter at a large round table while other club members lunched nearby.
@eglot But it sure shows his need for and insistence on total loyalty! Otherwise, “You’re fired!”
He’s been in it for quite a while … . Baby Jane’s hair is better, btw.
Interesting that Dotard would even give an interview to the “failing” NYT. This shows us the truth - Dotard isn’t opposed to the “elite” media, he just wants their acceptance and praise. Always a boy from Queens, wanting to be accepted.
Aaaaand the #Donny180Rule says nope. If he says it it’s the opposite.
It doesn’t make the US look bad it makes Trump look bad and I’d like to tell him he’s not the US.
