Sure. And it’s not like calling them “the enemy of the people” encourages violence against journalists, or anything, you despicable fool.

“So they should be nicer to me and respect their president, rather than attacking me with Fake News. I tell you, these are some of the worst people in the world. Somebody should do something.”
Granted, the murderer had a grudge against the paper, and apparently did not kill and injure people just because of Trump’s rhetoric. But, when he criticizes, threatens and calls a group “enemies of the people,” he does give license to some to do what they will, and comes about as close to the line as you can get in actually calling for violence. Trump is distinguishing, of course, between his favorite “journalists” like Fox News employees, and the rest of the “so-called” MSM, those “fake news” peddlers. Kind of like the distinction his people make between “good” immigrants (white) and “bad” ones (everyone else).
It is so nauseating, the way “violently” so obviously functions as a qualifier here.
Oh, you can just fuck all the way off. This is like yelling “fire” in a crowded theater and then lamenting the fact that people were trampled to death. You did this. You encouraged this. Someone finally took you up on it.

Notice all the qualifications: “violently,” and “while doing their job.” In other words, some attacking is OK (and certainly verbal harassment). More important is the second one: since in Trump’s eyes a journalist doing his/her job means continually praising him, with a journalist practicing actual journalism pretty much everything is permitted.
WE ALL SHOULD BE and we aren’t. And that is thanks to this corrupt SCOTUS.

Yes, the Putin way of managing journalists must be attractive for 45. Anna Politkovskaia is an instructive example. She was a constant critic of the Vicious Little Creep on many grounds, chiefly his prosecution of the war in Chechnia. They tried to kill her every which way, poisoning her on an airplane, running her down with a car, etc., etc. Finally, they employed the direct method. On Putin’s birthday back in '08, I believe, an assassin gunned Politkovskaia down in the vestibule of her apartment building, as she was coming in with groceries. If memory serves, the assassin wasn’t wearing any gloves, and just dropped the gun as he walked away.
