Discussion: Trump Issues Full Pardons To Oregon Ranchers Caught Up In Bundy Showdown

How will anything less than full impeachment followed by prosecution and conviction of this piece of shit president be considered justice?

Another outrage.

Do not think Trump does not know what he is doing here. This is not about pardons; it is about media distraction.

And this is a masterful distraction from the Kid’s Concentration Camps story and the ultra-right wing SCOTUS nominee.

Trump may not know much, but he does know how to play the media like a virtuoso plays a violin.

The pardons were issued today to rub his power into the faces of liberals already traumatized by the Kavanaugh nomination. Trump is on a roll. So long as Mueller keeps his powder dry–which he has done, for several months–there is nothing and nobody to stop the Republican president from doing whatever he wants to do. And so that’s what he’s doing. He’s trolling liberals and rising in the esteem of Republicans.

PS: That’s one reason Pelosi had better get in front of the cameras and attack Jordan and demand his resignation, investigation, etc. We have so few openings, so few opportunities to make our presence felt, and for some reason she has done nothing. Dems need to see their so-called leaders fighting.

Trump is giving us a civics lesson for all time. I’d like to think that after this disaster (assuming we survive as a nation), we’ll never again hear some idiot tell us that there is no difference between the candidates because neither lives up to the purity standard. I’d like to think that, but I’m sure I’ll be proven wrong.

I don’t disagree, but would add that the media is (mostly) complicit–they want to be played. I’m trying to figure out how to convey the message effectively that the role of Commissar of State Media is already taken by Faux, etc. and the rest of 'em will soon enough be crushed, too.

OT
Alan Dershowitz in a new book says that in the event President Trump is ever impeached, the Supreme Court could intervene and overturn the vote to remove him from office.

Dershowitz pens in ā€œThe Case Against Impeaching Trumpā€ that if evidence of collusion with the Russian government arose that incriminated Trump, it would not be a criminal offense.

Dershowitz wrote another book?!? Thank God!!!

That’s a remarkable claim. I wonder how you’d go about assembling evidence for the truth of it.

We can’t even vote in November. I mean, what’s the point? We’re doomed. Time for the collective cyanide pill, amiright?

How soon before he pardons James Alex Fields, the Nazi that ran over and killed Heather Heyer in Charlottesville?

I think we can add Bipolar with an emphasis on Manic episodes to his ever expanding diagnoses.

So, now he’s pardoning white posse comitatus-types who committed arson against the federal government.

Donnie’s way of giving yet another big F-you to the FBI and the Justice Department.

It’s more about slapping down what many view as government overreach. Corporate heaven is about to get a lot more heavenly for the powerful. Many regulations will be challenged and turned over with the new Supreme Court. Government will actually shrink where it stands between the powerful and the ordinary people. It will be great fun for conservatives until the next crash. The government will be too much in debt to do squat the next time around. We won’t have the leadership to control the slide downward. Our brand is pretty much tarnished as far as help and cooperation with our old allies. I don’t know, do I actually have to post this or have y’all already read it? No,
mattinpa didn’t give it away when he actually answered my response before I posted it last week. I was clued in the day before when ncsteve thought he was being clever.
