Discussion: Trump Is Reportedly Vetting Chris Christie As Possible Running Mate

An inspiring story of rags to spontaneous combustion.

Itā€™s a bridge too far.

Christie always reminds me of this song my mum used to sing to me. One of the few clear memories of my early childhood.

Well, twirl my turban, man alive!
Here come Mr. Five by Five.
Heā€™s one of those big fat bouncing boys,
Solid avoirdupois!

The ā€œsolid avoirdupoisā€ bit is just incredibly witty.

Yeah, because there is really nobody elseā€¦ this is the only guy on the GOP side who can claim to add some governing experience (no matter how laughable) AND who has no political future other than jumping on a ticket with Trump.

Trump becoming President is his chance at being pardonedā€¦ The fact that they have Christieā€™s other emails means that someone rolled, and hard.

Ah, thank you.

I gather itā€™d still be pretty embarrassing to be such losers.

One wonders what kind of ā€œvettingā€ the Trump ā€˜campaignā€™ does. Seriously, how is it supposed to work? Donald and his kids and Melania ask Christie questions, or what?

Very well said. Iā€™m dumbfounded here, just fucking dumbfounded. Chris Christie?! For real? What does this do for Trump? I dunno, guys, I got nothing. Fresh out.

I canā€™t stand Trump or Christie but I think they would make a good team. Like him or not Christie is very smart and an aggressive attack dog. If I were Trump Iā€™d want that aggression rather than a passive professorial type like Corker.

Hillary, also, would be well served with an aggressive running mate - Elizabeth Warren would be my pick.

Can you imagine a Warren-Christie debate? Iā€™d pay to see that.

Mitt Romney/Paul Ryan - Mitt lost both MI (birth state) and MA. UT he won, but it he only had a vacation home there which is balanced out by his vacation home loss in CA (although he was a resident for a couple years in UT 1999 and 2000). They also had a vacation house in NH I believe, which he also lost.

A likely choice, an unemployed low rated Governor and Republican Presidential candidate who failed to gain traction among the 19 Presidential wannabes. The Obama tarmac hug photo did him in, so little help to Trump. Strong possibility not too many others stepping up to fill Trumpā€™s VP slot.

If HRC picks Warren, this would be a two bully ticket versus a two bā€¦ (um)ā€¦ road ticket.

Great choice that fits Trumpā€™s pattern of saying and doing things that wonā€™t get him elected.

And donā€™t forget: first President/VP nominees to both be indicted after they lose an election.
