Discussion: Trump Is Best Chance At Blocking Anti-Gay Ex-Judge Roy Moore From Senate

Alabama sounds like a scary place to me. Can’t we deport all those Nazi/KKK types there and then seal the borders?

Moore is the martyr for the Lost Cause and the lost cause of government practicing a str8 white man’s religion. He is Alabama.

Trump’s coattails are only good for covering his own voluminous behind.

[The scene: A campaign rally somewhere in Alabama. Roy Moore is introduced and alternately addresses the audience and an inaudible voice off-stage.]

Ladies and gentlemen, the next Senator from Alabama, Roy Moore.

Hi folks. First let me say I’m not a homophobe. Some of my best friends are homophobes and …
[What? … Whaddaya mean ā€˜backwards’? … Well, some of my best friends are … I don’t? … Oh, all right.]

Okay, folks, I want to say I’m not a homophobe. I know lots of faggots and …
[Now what? … It’s not? Sez who? … Well, not where I come from it isn’t. … Oh, all right.]

Folks, I’m not a homophobe. It’s absurd. It’s ridiculous. You might as well say Adolf Hitler was anti-Semitic …
[What now? … He was? … He did what? … Well, who knew? … Really? … Oh, all right.]

Aw, shucks, folks. i’ll just come in again, shall I?

I thought Alabama was dead last in a lot of state rankings, but they rank way up at 47th for education and health care. I’m sure any of the republican senate candidates are up to the task of fighting their way to 50th, though.

That’s what Mississippi is for.

True dat, Max.

OT, but I see that some planned state laws to let motorists hit protestors are probably going nowhere now.

  1. Describing Roy Moore as merely ā€œanti-gayā€ seems woefully inadequate…how about raving lunatic flaming bigot extremist right-wing nut job goat-fucking ex-judge Roy Moore…
  2. Luther Strange and Mo Brooks may not be quite as far out there as Moore but not far away…they would all vote exactly the same…

So…would it be better if…

A) Moore gets elected and people get to see the full freak flag fly…
OR…
B) Brooks or Strange get elected and Moore is denied the added attention/notoriety/platform that woukd be accorded a Senator…

P.S,
No Democratic options given as this IS Alabama…

The only thing that we can trust Trump to do is to f*** everything up. Seems it will be Senator Roy Moore.

Then they’ll just escape by the Gulf.

Is Trump’s endorsement of Strange a sign that he recognizes the power the Senate has over him?

As an Alabama native and lifelong resident, I can tell you that there are sensible people here. We tend to keep our opinions on the down low. For our safety. :smirk:

The Senate could always refuse to seat Moore. And should he be elected, I certainly hope that Democrats will move to do that.

Well, we know that the state motto is ā€œThank God for Mississippi.ā€

The hell with worrying about Moore in the Senate.

He’d be the perfect SCOTUS nominee for the Orange Hot Air Buffoon…

Please don’t go there!

Just the thought of the Marmalade Shitcannon nominating Roy Moore to the Supreme Court…

I’m rooting for Roy, to prove the premise that citizens of Alabama should lose their right to vote, as they are dumber than dog shit. Sad.

Just another difference between Blue and Red states.

In Illinois, you can get a ticket if your car comes within three (3) feet of a bicyclist on a roadway.

Red States? Vehicular homicide is a-ok.
