Discussion: Trump Initially Offered Nikki Haley Job As Secretary Of State, But She Said No

Just because DJT has agreed to something doesnā€™t mean he will abide by the agreement. In fact, itā€™s common knowledge he never keeps his word.

Having said this, I admire her position and her directness. For all of our sakes, I hope it works out.

Well actually, it was a contingent offer. She said no to the Oval Office Couch part, so he moved onā€¦

Well, one of the few who actually was realistic about her background and preparation, so kudos for that. And for a couple of her positions on some topics.

But I still donā€™t trust her.

Sheā€™s a policy girl? What were her policies as governor?

Tax giveaways to corporations for low-pay jobs.
High African-American unemployment rate.
Anti-union.
High poverty.

Some policies you have there, Haley.

Trump offered the job to all the best people, and all the best people were like ā€˜nah, eff thatā€™. Sad!

ā€œI just thought he could find someone better.ā€

Yeah, how did that work out?? The Trump ā€œAdministrationā€ is full of unqualified, unfit and underperforming people. Why should she be any different? I have no respect for anyone who has chosen to work for this man and his criminal enterprise, Ms. Haley included.

Gotta give her credit for having the foresight to distance herself and stay putā€¦

Whatā€™s her point in sharing this history with CNN now?

Distancing herself?

She playing the long game. Like Rice, rse wants to be a completely unqualified party knob as SS during the Donaldā€™s second term.

You know she must be praising Jeebus every single day sheā€™s in NYC and not caught in the morass in DC. She gets to talk tough without any threat of dealing with the consequences, and she can run on Penceā€™s right in 2020 if she wants.

ā€œI said, ā€˜I am a policy girl, I want to be part of the decision-making process,ā€™ā€ Haley said.

Sheā€™s a policy girl with BIG ambitions who wants to make the BIG decisions someday. Eyes set on the BIG white house with a view.

I thought Darling Nikki took the UN gig because she wouldnā€™t have to go anywhere, she got a penthouse suite at the Waldorf-Astoria (which has a fabulous lobby, if you know what I mean), and the shopping is better in NYC.

ā€œIā€™m very aware of when things are right and when they are not,ā€ she told CNN.

That belief in yourself is the first indication that you are grossly unqualified to perform any public service, except to clean latrines. And even then, iā€™d have my doubts. Absolutely nothing you have done as Governor, or during your brief time as UN Ambassador, supports your claim to know the difference between right and wrong.

She can humble-brag, undercut Tillerson, present herself as the one remaining, unsullied member of the administration, raise her visibility for 2020, up the advance on her memoirsā€“none of this has anything to do w doing her job, but who the fuck cares?

She turned down because she wanted to be in New York away from Trumpā€™s pussy-grabbing hands.

Nobody wanted either job if Trump was part of the package.

You nailed it. (Anyone still inclined to consider Haley as the patriotic, ethical one should think about how her telling ā€œsecretsā€ impacts Tillersonā€™s reputation.)

We moved out of the suite at the Waldorf when a Chinese-owned firm bought the building.
