Discussion: Trump: ICE Is Great But A 'Great Wall' Is Better

A Great Wall would be, however, a far easier & less expensive solution.

Well, that’s because Mexico will pay for it.

Right?

The best way to prevent illegal immigration is to arrest and imprison the owners of businesses which hire them and profit from it. They won’t come if there are no jobs waiting.

Heard that Mar-a-something in Florida had some. Good a place as any to start.

Devin Nunes’ (another GOP Trump lover in congress) family dairy factory farms in IA are also employing undocumented labor to run their business of course. Were this to be publicized by the MSM or even newspapers in IA, it would open a huge scandal. Unfortunately, we no longer have any honest news source on TV or radio, only online anymore. Here is one of the articles about the Nunes’ hypocrisy:

ICE is great but liquor is quicker, and spending money is cheaper than not spending money, and we’re keeping out the problems now but the wall is mostly built anyway, you don’t realize that, and we’re keeping the problems out but the military could finish the wall and then things would just be better if you gave me my wall (falls on ground sobbing).

Our Southern Border is now Secure and will remain that way…

Then why should Dems assign more money for this fiasco if it’s already done???

I don’t think the JCS will go along with any notion that military personnel are going to be used as slave labor to build the wall of hate & shame.

Because it’s less expensive that way. Weren’t you even paying attention? This is how finance works! You probably haven’t bankrupted a business even once.

Didnt the Chinese try that Great Wall thing awhile back?

Theirs, actually a series of walls, worked for much longer than there’s been a United States of America.

He’s said a couple of times he wants the military to build it.

He has requested an increase in the military budget for next year.

He is going to try to get the military to build it.

Under the guise of “national security” priorities.

ETA: The only fools yammering for a wall are people who live far away from it. And they are piss ignorant fools.

I grew up on the border. The international border, as far as PEOPLE are concerned, is as significant to the people who LIVE there as the boundary line between New Jersey and New York is for commuters. Or the line between your county and the next. Yes, it has legal and political significance, but millions of people in this country and elsewhere live in one jurisdiction and work in another; they drive through one jurisdiction to another to conduct commerce and trade; they have family spread throughout many jurisdictions. The southern border, to the people who LIVE and WORK near it, is not much different.

The Rio Grande River is the actual border. A huge swathe of that border is in the Northern Chihuahua Desert, which covers a great deal of Texas and New Mexico because deserts don’t consider geopolitical boundaries any more than New Jersey commuters do. Animals require access to the river for migration, also water, as do farmers. They’re already bulldozing the National Butterfly Center to build this goddamned unsightly ecological nightmare.

Trust me. It is neither wanted nor considered necessary by people on the ground who actually LIVE on the border and understand the problem.

Please excuse me for shouting. This, and what Individual-1 and Little Stevie Miller are doing to migrant families, just infuriates me to the point it makes my head and heart hurt.

Even though what we have works fine we MUST build a yuuuge wall cause I say so. And Mexico WILL pay for it cause I’m whining and crying a lot and that’s how I always get my way.

If there was only a way, a means, a method that he could show us these huge, long sections of the Wall that have already been built. Some technology, like, I don’t know… photography or video.

He also talked about a big leap forward. Most people don’t know it but Mr. Trump is actually a great student of Chinese history.

No media member inquiring about the wall should interview or question ANY person working for Trump, or otherwise is a Republican serving in any capacity, without their first query pressing why anyone other than Mexico has to pay for the wall. And they should not move on to any other question until a definitive answer is given.

“Gee KellyAnne, you’re avoiding the question. Or providing evasive answers that in no way address the question. We’re done talking unless you can tell my why the President’s firm commitment to the voters Mexico would pay for the wall should not be honored.”

It’s possible I could agree more, but I don’t see how.

A wall is: an empty tablet crying out for graffiti; a physical impediment that 23 17 year olds will figure out how to get under, over, around in a day or so. The subject of a whole bunch of pending lawsuits on the government taking people’s land at the border.

There will be subcontractors working with migrants, taking bribes to include work arounds and pass throughs in the middle of construction. Anyone thinking the wall will stem the tide of desperate people seeking a better life is deluded.

Well we have walls. There are shorter wall segments along the border that have indeed proven totally useless.

Yes. T rumpp is jealous.

Our Southern Border is now Secure

So why do we need an expensive wall then?

And why do deplorables want to pay for the wall? They were promised Mexico would pay, and they believed that.
