Discussion: Trump: 'I Didn't Say I Would Pay' Legal Fees Of Man Who Punched Protester

Trump supporters don’t actually expect free legal help if they assault someone at a rally. I doubt the consequences cause them pause. Hell, you can shoot and wound someone in this country and get off with a fine and community service if you don’t have priors, have a job, and have a family that needs your paycheck. Oh, and you’re not black. Something Trump rally attendees needn’t worry about.

The guy that he once called pathlogical, Dr Carson, might well have been correct when he diagnosed Trump as Schizophrenic. Even if that’s not exactly what he was trying to get at when he said “there are two different Donald Trumps”.

He thinks the US is a nation of ‘yes-sers’. Has never been called for his lies, his behavior , or his despicable-ness.

Golly, Trumpsters, when are you going to realize Trump is out for Trump and nobody else? He doesn’t give a darn about you, just himself.

Infuriating. Sometimes it’s hard not to feel like there’s really just nothing left to say.

AND he can use the “mute” button so that the minions who surround him can feed him info

I am sick of the media continuing to allow Donald to just “phone it in”

TRUMP SUPPORTERS (from Wikipedia):

Suspension of disbelief: a term coined in 1817 by the poet and aesthetic philosopher Samuel Taylor Coleridge, who suggested that if a writer could infuse a “human interest and a semblance of truth” into a fantastic tale, the reader would suspend judgment concerning the implausibility of the narrative. Suspension of disbelief often applies to fictional works of the action, comedy, fantasy, and horror genres. Cognitive estrangement in fiction involves using a person’s ignorance or lack of knowledge to promote suspension of disbelief. (emphasis added)

This is why his supporters don’t give a shit about what they hear from anyone about Trump.

Trump’s “tell” when he’s lying is a number of variations on the following steps:

“This is the first I’m hearing of this so, you know, I can’t really comment on this right now”

“I don’t know anything about that”

“I never said that”

“I’ll have to look into this”

What he never says, and what he continues to get away with, is “I’ll look into that AND get back to you” because then he would be obligated to either address it during his next call OR scratch that media outlet off of his list of “phone-a-friends”.

Nailed it, blue.

I read the piece and was scratching my head because I clearly heard him utter what you quoted. Well done.

He is a champion gaslighter. Can you imagine being married to this degenerate?

He just doesn’t understood government and how it’s run. Monarchs reign, presidents preside. In debating with Jeb*, he referred twice to the reign of georgebush

"I lost hundreds of friends, the World Trade Center came down during the reign of George Bush,

The World Trade Center came down during your brother’s reign.

Well, they haven’t figured it out to this point, so I don’t think they will ever get it. Period. End of sentence.

The guy views bankruptcy as just another tool of business. That ought to be enough said right there. Please note that I am not advocating bringing back debtor’s prisons or revising bankruptcy laws. But someone who views bankruptcy as just another tool while hiding his wealth behind a corporate veil has a more-than-casual resemblance to a con artist.

Well, it depends on what the meaning of is is.

So much for Gentle Ben’s endorsement.

Do recall (I’m sure you do) that the Trumpster has said, with huge pride, that he is the keeper of the world’s greatest memory.

I all seriousness I cannot believe anything this bag of mostly water (and a bit of protein) says

Besides the lie(s) in this statement, I’m beginning to think that Trump has $ister $arah writing his statements. Can someone tell me what he’s saying here?

No, because I don’t condone violence. And I didn’t say I was going to pay for his fees," Trump said. “No, I didn’t say that. I haven’t looked at it yet and nobody has asked me to pay for fees and somebody asked me the question and I haven’t even seen it so I never said I was going to pay for fees.”

A halfway decent interviewer would have followed up, “So, were you lying to your supporters when you said you would; or are you lying to me now, when you say you won’t?”

Trump has special abilities that you are lacking. He is able to rise above the restraints of the truth or falsity of his utterances. He operates on another plane, where instant gratification and total self-regard are the sine qua non of what emits from his oral cavity.
