Tinpot would-be dictator seeks to turn the Grand Democratic Experiment into a banana republic.
His current hypothesized strategy is to demote Powell down to board governor, though some in the Counsel’s office see the move as legally murky.
So, the Counsel's office is telling Trump it's OK to do it.
Trump and brainstorming. Now there’s two words I never thought could possibly be placed together in the same sentence.
He’d settle for a plantain autocracy.
Dear God! Donald Trump is incapable of learning the smallest thing. Complain about leakers all day on Twitter, while talking with those same aides. If the Republic can be saved, one of the factors will be Trump’s inability to shut up.
Dotard is just itching for another bankruptcy…
It’s been too long since his last dozen or so.
Poor donnie is thinking: “why didn’t I just name him acting Chairman!!??!”
When in doubt about who should go, it is always, always, always the other guy. Think how much better tRump would feel if he wasn’t constantly mad and scheming about how to get rid of someone he chose. Perhaps he should go.
From that brain? Only a dust storm.
tRump will be removing him with cause…
'cause he wants to
Go ahead, stable genius, demote Powell, keep poking China with a stick, keep destabilizing the economy, see how that works out for you.
I’m sure an Acting Fed Chair would be much more pliable for the president.
Best part about fucking with the Fed is that, when the whole economy tanks, Kushner and the Trumps are going to lose a LOT more than the rest of us.
And will have to go into hiding from their russian, saudi and qatari creditors, who don’t like people who don’t pay their bills.
“Legally murky” is the circa-2016 remake/sequel of Legally Blonde that we didn’t know we needed.
Another senseless dictionary crime!
Criterium: noun: a one-day bicycle race on a circuit road course.
Donnie has megalomania, the world suffers.
Tempest, teapot.
I wonder how Senate Republicans who are up for reelection in 2020 feel about it. If Trump’s incompetent bully-boy “negotiating,” coupled with the whopping deficits the G.O.P. has saddled us with, trigger a nice, fat recession and/or stock market crash, their prospects suddenly get a whole lot dimmer.
Trump’s disapproval of Powell’s monetary policy seems unlikely to meet that criterium.
What does a bicycle race have to do with the Fed or monetary policy?
FYI: The singular of “criteria” is “criterion.”
Well, they do all tend to go around in circles.
