What I wanted to see written by someone. The more play this gets, the more the truth will become known. Trumpian PR relies on increasing noise to signal by creating a chaotic news cycle. By forcing an actual focus, the noise decreases, and signal comes through. This policy is such a proverbial awful excrement of human depravity that it galvanizes the full spectrum of voters, even many decent Republicans once they understand. Time is on the Democratic side for this.

And while the press is preoccupied with this issue the trade war rages on. Stocks continue to tumble and there is no end in sight.
I am not in favor of playing this for political advantage. That is a natural side effect. Democrats should be seeking and promoting genuine workable solutions to this problem.

I think it is smart to stay quiet for now. Trump and the GOP are imploding on this. We know it is morally wrong, thereâs no need for the Dem leadership to pipe in and have the media narrative change to âDemocrats are making it a political issueâŠâ.
âŠand that is what the media would call âmaking it a political issueâ. Silence is indeed golden.
Ivana Trump tells a story about how, one day during the divorce proceedings, Donald Trump called her and said, "Don Jr.'s here, and youâre not getting him back until ⊠" blah blah yadda blah - until she did such and such, acquiesced to his demands, and if she didnât, sheâd never see Don, Jr. again.
Ivana shrugged and replied, âKeep him. Iâve got more than enough kids to worry about.â
Fifteen minutes late, Don Jr. was back home with his Mom.
My point in relating this story is to illustrate that Donald âTraitorâ Trump is perfectly willing to use his own kids as bargaining chips. Why would anyone think Trump would give a flying fuck about anyone elseâs kids?

I do agree with that. Letâs see what happens though - the Democrats really couldnât investigate the WMD lies that got us into Iraq because so many big players went along with it. Nobody is going along with Trump. So I donât see forgive and forget being future policy. If it is, my checkbookâs gonna say bye-bye.
Or pay someone else to do it. Trump is too squeamish to do it himself, and too weak to break a twig, much less rip off a childâs head.
Heâd want to do it himself though - which is just as bad, albeit less visceral.

To be fair, there are the extremely rare occasions when not all of them caved - for example, Collins, McCain, and Murkowski voted against completely repealing the ACA. Mind you, they havenât been too useful in any other manner, but I give them credit for that.

I was thinking about Trump (I shouldnât have said âtheyâ). His administration I donât think will cave on this issue. The Republicans very well may, but they also know the rabid base will lose their minds if the Republicans congress critters do.

This clip is fascinating, not only because it documents Trumpâs promise that Mexico would pay for the wall, but it also documents how much the man has declined physically and cognitively in the past two years.
I am not sure of your vision of the events or my statements so I am not sure how you interpreted what I wrote. My sincere apologies if I left any impression that these children are just pawns for this election cycle.
To my point, nothing much has broke through to a larger audience regarding the deep dark hole the GOP has climbed into. It is in the art of politics that Democrats break this cycle particularly now to save these children.
For Democrats, that means getting their message out. When we first heard these kids, we asked someone we knew up on the Hill what the hec Democrats were doing. We had heard very little on this from our standard news sources. And we got an earful back, a like âOMG, what do you mean?â because they had been indeed doing a lot, but it was not getting covered. In the last few days this story has finally broke through. However, it is pretty clear that there are many still left with the false impressions put out by Trump PR (it does work) that if left unchecked will leave this policy intact.
So, Democrats must continue to work this news. They have a real opportunity to break through, and I think we can agree it is pretty important that it happens on this. Unfortunately, it has become clear this will take time and almost certainly an election. I would be very surprised if this policy changes unless the GOP looses in November in adequately large numbers so Democrats can force a change in policy. Otherwise, as we can already see, the GOP will just play games with this by sending along bills with poisonous conditions.
I would also suggest that this not just one policy and potentially only opening a door for other awful policies. So, what if we stop this by conceding to some kind of political blackmail? Then what does the GOP do? Well, that answer is pretty clear, they rinse and repeat using another political hostage.
Finally, Democrats did not put these children into a politically charged circus, the Trump administration did that. That is what is left to clean up, but now it does take political action.

and that is exactly why Repugs are trying to keep these images and recordings from getting to the public. Itâs up to some brave individual citizens who have access to keep essentially smuggling this info out to the rest of us. This is one of those instances where a small amount of people can do a lot.
