Discussion: Trump Finally Releases First General Election TV Ad–On Immigration (VIDEO)

He better spend some of it …

Before the RNC cuts him off —

I watched the ad and my first reaction on finishing it was “where’s the wall???”

More of the same… Interesting this ad runs as Trump states he regrets – wait, what is it he regrets?

More “divide and lie” it would seem

Too little.

Too late.

Love the picture of the Ammo-Sexual with his Penile-Extension hanging down in the perfect spot to make him feel like a MAN.
What a bunch of pathetic losers and pussies.

Meh. Slightly less cheesy than the few earlier attempts, but about three letter grades below the caliber Hillz’s team is working at. That train with people crammed on top didn’t come from anywhere in North America, so that’s going to get laughed at. Same simplistic crap as always—who’s going to be persuaded who isn’t on board already? And Jesus, always with the hat and the thumb. It’s the “You can call me Ray” of politics, instantly old the moment it appeared.

He’s still playing to his base, which would vote for him no matter what. Strange. Is he plain dumb, or does he want only to lose?

The images at the beginning of the ad show the source. The first image is obviously from Hillary’s Bengazi testimony. I haven’t checked the others to see if they are from equally irrelevant news stories. The voice over statements are ridiculous. It’s the images of a helicopter and the big battle gun ship that scare the beejus out of me They forgot to show concertina wires…maybe that will be in the next ad

That’s actually the train that runs the length of Mexico (south to north) known as La Bestia (The Beast).

I think this is a nop. It will appeal to the people who are already Trump supporters and everyone else will likely see it for what it is.

It’s too fricking bad we’ve all worked nearly 250 years to build this nation only to see the populace wiped out by homicidal Mexican dishwashers, roofers, landscapers and hotel maids. Sigh, I had so much to live for, too :pensive:

Went dark, going dark, reviling the dark, lord of the dark.

So, if we elect Trump he’ll create an army of these guys to stave off the marauding hordes?

Sheesh…playing straight to the base that elected him into the nomination, and making matters worse, he really isn’t going to get many ads for that amount of money. As someone pointed out, most campaigns reserve ad time well in advance to lock down the best rates. Buying this ad space right now means he did not get the best value for his dollar. That means less air time. Oh, and Clinton got her ads on the air during the biggest sporting event of the year- the Olympics. Clinton’s ads have been airing throughout the Olympics.

I’d hate to sit on top of it the whole way, damn. Mexico’s a long country. And although it’s technically North America, my point stands that it’s ridiculous to imply that trains with people dripping off the top of them are coming across the border. Matthew Yglesias said the message of this ad is the same it’s always been with this campaign, Hillary will let dangerous immigrants kill you and Trump will keep you safe. Somehow.

Very disappointed. I was hoping for more of a Leni Riefenstahl-ish “Triumph of the Trump” angle.

Count me out.
