Whether the things he says are lies makes no difference. The audience he’s after has just enough attention span for the initial lie, which of course they believe. Fact-checks, explanations, and suchlike are pointless preaching to the choir, i.e. us; by that time that happens Trump fans have moved on, and we’re left with the booby prize: the understanding that Trump has gotten away with it again and we’re still screwed.
Hopefully, this will be asked of the press secretary in tomorrow’s briefing. Please provide more information on Mr. Trump’s German-born father?
OT but you should know I’ve made forward progress on Lincoln by DH Donald. Got it down from the topmost bookshelf here, dusted it off and I’ll be ready to go very soon
If you can draw Binky you might get the comission to paint the presidential portrait…
no, I wouldn’t wish that on you having to look at that face for hours. I take it back
I’ve been willing to. You can’t choose what family you are born into. You can’t choose your parents.
Having said that, (1) unless Melania divorces Orange Fatass, gets Barron’s custody, runs away, and makes active, conscious efforts to detox herself and her son or (2) he raises himself to be a self-aware, sensible, introspective adult with humility (to raise yourself that way is a daunting task under the environment he is in), then chances are he is a future Stupider One or Creepier One.
And that’s really sad.
“Hell” – that’s the operative word.
Trump and Putin as happy as long as it puts the MSM into the “This is a positive change going forwards…” bit. The one thing I hate with the MSM is the one good act changes history completely. They are too damn gullible at times.

Thread (I agree). A little bit long, but worth reading.
And this is a good question to the above thread.
Fantastic! Enjoy!
I think it is a very balanced biography–I have read a lot about Lincoln and like this bio the best.
Love Italy as well. I have not been to Sicily–Will have to remedy that…
It’s just so cool.
He used to keep his real dad’s speeches by his bed.
The Bavarian association is key to his character. It’s also the base of AfD, as it once was the stronghold of Hitler.
My second visit. Taormina is wonderful.
My feelings exactly.
Odds are he was sent to military school because his parents had no idea how to deal with his extreme personality disorder. This is a common response (short of child murder) adopted by parents of male narcissists, especially malignant ones like Trump. The affliction itself may well have been caused in part by some form of emotional abuse by parents but he may have just been born this way. In any event, military school was merely a response to an already deeply troubled child. It didn’t work either, and personality disorders of this extremity in a person with a below average intellect and zero self awareness are rarely responsive to any treatment, punishment, education or anything short of murder. So yes, the president of the USA does live in an eternal present - the present of an emotionally underdeveloped 11-month-old child. Most children outgrow this stage and learn to appreciate that they are part of a world that exists with or without them. Trump is permanently trapped in that angry infant’s solipsism where everything is about whether it hurts him or pleases him. If he has learned anything about being a “normal” adult it is that his most extreme behaviors should be jealously, if ineffectively, guarded secrets. Thus the president of the United States is completely manipulable by people who are willing to praise him and know some of his darkest secrets. And even they can’t stay ahead of his needs (although Putin and friends seem to be doing pretty well). Jesus Christ.
The week that begins will be the worst yet. But there will be more to come.
How amusing. But again, he’s an 11-year-old child. He hasn’t done anything to invite anyone’s judgment or mockery. He’s just a kid.
I try to be careful and attribute this sort of thing to reading I’ve done, and not say “it must be so.” All I know is that a trauma-engendered locked-in-present worldview would explain a hell of a lot with this guy. There’s some sort of pathology going on, because it’s frickin’ weird, and he does it all the time.
