Well, then she can clear her “good name” by testifying for several hours.

So you say, how about you prove it by turning over all email correspondences from the last two years.

Translation: there was a double-wide trailer of deletion.

And absolutely, positively, no obstruction of justice, no siree.

Who cares? It wasn’t a big deal when Hillary did it and it’s not a big deal now. It’s like if Democrats elected an orange dude with body issues as president and Republicans screamed about how we were hypocrites for not insulting his orangeness. Hillary’s emails were always a distraction that nobody really cared about and every story about Ivanka’s emails is just a reminder of how the whole country got played.

Republicans aren’t hypocrites. They just hate Democrats and will use anything as the pretext for their hatred, especially the things that they do themselves. That’s exactly what every Democrat should have been saying when asked about Hillary’s emails before pivoting into something we should have been talking about.

Besides, the real scandal is that Ivanka had any government business at all. Everything gets normalized over time.

Are too. See McConnell, Mitch, e.g.

I see nothing hypocritical about McConnell. He wants power for himself and his side and will say and do whatever it takes, including pretending to be ethical and decent. A hypocrite is someone who goes against their own standards. Republicans have no standards. They’re authoritarians who honestly don’t understand why they should share power in the first place and therefore everything they do is justified because we already violated the rules by existing.

Yeah, 11 to be exact.

It is hypocritical for the GOP to investigate a Democrat for something they refuse to investigate a Repug for. That is classic hypocrisy.

Those are the standards they actualy hold, but they aren’t the ones they claim to up hold, thus the hypocrisy.

No it’s not. Republicans have a strict rule that investigations are ONLY for Democrats, not Republicans. The things they say to explain why they only investigate Democrats are just rationalizations, not reasons. We all know this to be true, so why do we pretend otherwise? People were outraged at Hillary’s emails because they were Hillary’s, not because they were emails. Nobody else’s emails mattered.

When Republicans talk about morality and law, that’s not in conflict with their immoral and illegal actions; it’s part of their immoral and illegal plans. They aren’t hypocrites because everything they do is for the single purpose of gaining more power, period. Focusing on the reasons why they attack us is part of the distraction.

Disagree. If Republicans actually cared about emails, why is Hillary the ONLY person whose emails mattered? Both Colin Powell and Condi Rice used private email and nobody cared. Just like how it was the worst thing ever that Bill was a draft-dodger who cheated on his wife, yet they consider it an insult to talk about how both Bush and Trump were draft dodgers or that Trump is an admitted serial adulterer on his third wife.

Every election Republicans attack the Democrat because their epidermis is showing, and every time Democrats fall for the distraction by talking about Republican epidermis while trying to find the perfect candidate who can never be attacked for anything. Democrats need to talk about policies, which is why Republicans only want to talk about Democrats to distract us from the real issues.

Yes, thats the point. Your definition of hypocrisy is wrong. Hypocrisy isn’t going against your actual value while holding others to them, because if they were your actual values you wouldn’t be going against them. Hypocrisy is holding others to values you claim to hold, but don’t actually hold. By your standard no-one would ever be hypocritical, because the mere act of acting against their claimed values would show they aren’t actually their values and thus they wouldn’t be hypocrits for not complying with them.

Then why is Hillary the ONLY person who got attacked for using private email? When an anti-gay preacher turns out to be gay, that’s hypocrisy because being anti-gay really was part of their public persona. But the only reason anyone cared about Hillary’s emails was because they were Hillary’s, not because they were emails.

They also attacked Hillary for running a charity that helped people. Would that make them hypocrites if they also ran charities that help people? No. It just means they’ll attack their opponents for anything because it’s all just a distraction. Republicans actually PREFER stupid attacks over good ones, because stupid attacks are more distracting.

Nobody actually cared about Hillary’s emails. They were just a metaphor of her supposed corruption. She could have released every email she ever wrote and it would only have made them hate her more. That’s not hypocrisy. They just hate Democrats.

The issue isn’t deletion, it’s security and confidentiality. There is no indication that the e-mail account Ivanka used was up to snuff in either department, and that’s important because supposedly she was discussing serious government business in those e-mails.
