It is a big deal now, because they passed a law making it illegal after Hillary did it. They made it illegal so nobody would ever do it again.

Ivanka broke that law.

I think this is turning into an unimportant semantic dispute.

It seems you both agree that Republicans are not attempting to uniformly enforce the rules, or to enforce rules that are uniform. I think you both agree that Republicans do this because their goal is power, not good governance or due process or basic fairness.

And I think you’ve both found different ways to say essentially the same thing: the GOP is enforcing a double-standard that is extremely cynical.
