Discussion: Trump Confuses Clinton's Running Mate With Former Republican New Jersey Guv

Trump’s only had 87 businesses fail in NJ…how the hell is he supposed to remember who the politicians were if they didn’t take his bribes? Well, promises of bribes…not like he ever would pay up.

Oh, this wasn’t a mistake or confusion at all! It’s another jab at failed man-whore Christie, plain and simple.

I give most people the benefit of the doubt. In Trump’s case, my first thought is that he’s lying or exaggerating. So far, no evidence to the contrary.

Just got up and made coffee (rough nite).

Has Trump released his taxes yet?

“I don’t know Vladamir Putin. I don’t know the difference between the recent Democratic governor of VA and the long ago Republican governor of NJ but I know more about ISIS than anyone, including the generals.”

Just out of curiousity, did either of them ask for $4 billion tax increase, or was that completely pulled out of his ass?

“Trump seemed to confuse Kaine, the former governor and current senator from Virginia, with former New Jersey Gov. Tom Kean.”

He later derided Sec. Clinton’s early work in Parliament, calling her “not much of a funk-music innovator.”

His staffers are just messing with him now.

Trump knows Tim Kaine well, they were stablemates in the Green Room on the Jimmy Fallon show.

Oh, wait, they weren’t.

My take on it is…its his tell when he is flustered. He makes a mistake and the corrects himself in the same way"What? I mean Virginia". Go back and look at the really flustered speech he gave in California where he kept referring to Ivanka as his wife…same thing “What? I mean Melania”

And he is indeed feeling the heat on this Russian story (his presser only made it hotter)

Wait… was this a prepared statement for the press? WTF!! Donald Trump has to be the most disastrous Presidential candidate in US history. All I can ever think of whenever I see this guy is this scene from the movie Bad Santa:

That is how Trump’s entire campaign has gone so far, yet so few people seem to have noticed. WTF!?!

I went all over Virginia. I was there the other day. I thought he’d be popular. He’s not popular because he asked for tax increases. Big tax increases in Virginia, big."

Right, he’s so unpopular in Virginia that he was elected to the US Senate. (Granted, he was running against George Allen, who is less popular than mayflies in these parts.)

But Trump’s contention that unemployment in Virginia doubled under Kaine? A lie of omission: he omits to say that happened after the 2008 economic debacle under George W. Bush. From Wikipedia (citing CNBC) on this (my bolding) -

Among Kaine’s greatest challenges as governor came during the 2008–09 economic crisis; the Washington Post wrote that “perhaps his greatest success was keeping the state running despite [the crisis].” In the midst of the Great Recession, unemployment in Virginia remained lower than the national average. During Kaine’s tenure as governor, the unemployment rate in Virginia rose from 3.2% to 7.4%, a smaller increase than the national unemployment rate which rose from 4.7% to 9.9% during the same period.

and was he even in Virginia the other day?

Oh, yes – he was in Roanoke. And he complained about the temperature in the ballroom of the Hotel Roanoke, and threatened not to pay the bill as a result.
