Theyā€™re very politically correct that way. So was George W. Bush. Sad!

Dear GOP: Are a few points off the highest marginal tax rate worth blowing up the whole world?

Hear, hear. I, too, am Jewish and used to live in West Berlin (before the fall of the Wall). My husband and I would visit that exact Christmas market each year we lived there; it was a lovely cultural occasion. In addition to his many other faults and mistakes, DJT should not assume that this is a war on Christians. They were people who were visiting the market, and thatā€™s reason enough to condemn the attack, no matter the victimsā€™ religious bent or nationality. Letā€™s not make this a holy war!

There is no ā€œIā€ in the statement so he couldnā€™t have written it.

The situation is still in flux. Now, this morning the Beeb is reporting that German authorities are not certain that the suspect they arrested, an Afghan, was the man who drove the lorry into the crowd. Which leaves a dead Polish guy, who can tell no tales, in the lorry itself. Eyewitness accounts are notoriously unreliable.

Yes, indeed. And much of the rest of the world will of course assume all of us Americans back our President.

Do we know the faith of those killed?

I wonder if Trump has made a statement about Dylann Roof and the massacre of Christians at the Mother Emanuel AME church in Charleston SC in 2015 - and the web sites Roof got his ideas from. The victims were actually at a Bible study meeting and one of them was a state senator in South Carolina which makes the crime a political assassination in my book. But wait - the shooter was white and the victims were black.
Does Trump care more about Germans who are out shopping than he does South Carolinians in a Bible study group? Is murder a more serious crime when the perpetrator is Muslim than when heā€™s a neo-Confederate?

Of course. If heā€™s this unhinged about a small attack in another country, imagine how heā€™ll respond when it happens here.

We only care about the ā€˜Christiansā€™ that were slaughtered? The rest were just so much collateral damage?

Weā€™re going to have several years of watching this orange thing settle petty grievances. This office will never be about anything but other than how it makes him look.

Do we know the perpetrator was Muslim?
