Discussion: Trump Concludes Campaign Was Spied On, Warns Of 'Long Jail' Time For 'TREASON'

insane ramblings from the guy who said that dems not clapping for him at SOTUA was also TREASON!

He was just one of the many candidates at that time, how come that was treason?

Too late, Trump. Too much is known and will be known to stage your alternative reality.

My Campaign for President was conclusively spied on. Nothing like this has ever happened in American Politics. A really bad situation. TREASON means long jail sentences, and this was TREASON!

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) May 17, 2019

Prominent Democrats should probably push back swiftly on this. But it might alienate a much needed cohort of voters in the coming 2020 election. Don't want to piss off the crazies. Might regret it.

Selling the presidency to the Russians seems more like treason to me, but I guess I’m still clinging to that whole law and order mindset

definition of Treason: the crime of being disloyal to YOUR COUNTRY or its GOVERNMENT, especially by HELPING ITS ENEMIES or trying to remove the government using violence

Sounds familiar.

I’m OK with the long sentences. We only differ on for whom.

18 U.S. Code § 2381. Treason
U.S. Code

Whoever, owing allegiance to the United States, levies war against them or adheres to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort within the United States or elsewhere, is guilty of treason and shall suffer death, or shall be imprisoned not less than five years and fined under this title but not less than $10,000; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States.

I'm sure the nation's chief law enforcement officer will want to inform the public and the President he is misinformed about the crime of treason.

Treason is defined in Art 3 Sec 3 of the constitution. Even if his campaign was “speed” upon it doesn’t meet the definition of treason unless you equate tRump with the United States.

It’s time to impeach the muthaf*cker.

Every accusation is a confession with you, motherfucker.

I’d rather he inform the public that the Traitor-in-Chief has been indicted for treason. I’d also rather have won PowerBall, which is probably more likely.

Thé King has spoken as he strolls down the street wearing no cloths.

Such a good thing that there was NO COLLUSION to find and the spies went home empty-handed…

tRump’s heard the word treason bandied about, so he thought he’d try to get it out there too without knowing what it means.

Poor Donnie, he missed all of the Elementary Civics classes. Sad.

While equivocating the FBI’s surveillance of Trump campaign officials’ contacts with Russians to treason may be out of line

equivocate: to use ambiguous language so as to conceal the truth or avoid committing oneself.

Use “equating,” OK?

English: how do it work?

Projection. If Donald is King at anything, it is projection.

Bring it, asshole.

This is essentially a terrorist move. (It isn’t killing a large swath of people, or taking down a building, but terrorism has a wide range of effects.) Like any terrorist move, it is designed to cause an action (which may be merely to cause inaction) based purely on fear that it creates itself. And it wins to the extent that it succeeds in spreading that fear and getting something of what it wants. We can only win by acting without fear, and yet still with wisdom and caution that might be appropriate anyway.
