right up his alley…and it goes on the say that pelosi voted to commute…
Rubashkin was convicted in November 2009 on 86 charges of financial fraud, including bank fraud, mail and wire fraud and money laundering. Prosecutors had claimed the company intentionally defrauded St. Louis based First Bank on a revolving $35 million loan by faking invoices from meat dealers, inflating the value of the company.[22]
After the loving stupid post tax scam rude awakening for the Republicans. Stupid has left you a wander down a path of no return tries you me you will not return when the deplorable wake it up to what you’ve done with your tax scam. I am so glad at this time I am not a Republican, I am so proud that I have had nothing to do with this bunch of deplorable’s my only dismay is that there are deplorable’s in my life and there still blinded by the dead in the White House what is wrong with you?
I know the ‘kosher’ adds some colour to the reporting, but the person’s religious affiliation is pretty irrelevant in this case.
He was not mixing pork meat in the minced beef or something (which actually happened in Denmark at one abattoir, exporting to Saudi Arabia. DNA testing caught them).
Casual mention of religion of this kind (like “Muslim Man Robs Bank”) annoys me.
No, no, no. Trump’s problem is with the illegal immigrants, not with the businessmen who exploit or abuse them. It’s like the two illegals, the illegal hiring of an illegal immigrant that is, make the illegalities cancel each other out. Treating illegals criminally can’t be a crime, because they’re already illegal so they don’t have any rights. It’s very unfair to punish a businessman for taking advantage of the situation. #TrumpLogic
Law and Order? Check!
Illegals? Check!
Joooooooooooze! Check.
When do Trump’s Neo Nazi friends, some of whom are good people, march on the White House in their khaki pants, bearing tiki torches, crosses and Nazi flags?
His prosecution came after federal authorities raided the plant and arrested 389 illegal immigrants in 2008.
Apparently we need to build the wall around kosher meat packing plants in Iowa. Here is a direct example of ‘american jobs’ being taken by illegal immigrants and yet it’s not even mentioned as part of his sentence for illegal activities. Iowa is deep state Redneckistan too. Wonder how the base there feels about this one.
@clauscph I disagree. This guy is operating under colour of his religion, making and selling, a religiously-sanctioned product, and using a variety of unethical means to do so. If he were making and selling Slinky toys, then, yeah, his religion is irrelevant, but in this case, I think it has a definite bearing on the story. The guy is rabbi himself! Would you want your (fill in the blank) spiritual leader to carry on like this? Political correctness has its limits, and they don’t need to be extended to lying, thieving scofflaws wrapping themselves in a cloak of sanctimony.
He’s 57 now.
He was sentenced in 2009 to 27 years.
If this is the line the Trump DoJ is taking, and not just his lawyer (who actually said it), then Trump’s establishing that 27 years is an ‘unfair’ sentence for a 49-year old defendant unless you’re intending a life sentence. Someone should maybe ask them.
This guy is pure scum. I had my students read about him. His actions destroyed hundreds of families and sent numerous Native Americans from Guatemala back where the government was killing Native Americans. Numerous town businesses went bankrupt from the disruption. The packing plant later reopened with immigrants from Eastern Europe.
Trump: What’s a little obstruction of justice - dude did it several times - repeatedly even. We should have given him a medal rather than thrown him into jail. Sentence Commuted.
