That and also when he saw people disguised as pallets of money coming off that plane in Iran. I mean the man described what he did NOT see if stark vivid detail.
He also said for years he knew Putin and was close to him. Then he tells Geo.S. with ABC he isn’t sure he ever even met Putin and is also not sure he would know him if he met him that minute,.Really?
The fact that tRump is within forty percentage points of Hillary indicates a failure of our political, journalistic and educational systems. Idiocracy is upon us. Our society is underwhelmed by critical thinking skills and overwhelmed by bullshit mixed into our spoon-fed pablum.
The so-called Main Stream Media simply doesn’t do its ethical job anymore. Did profit and the need for a horse race to gain more advertising revenue from political ads somehow move real journalism to the back of the bus? Where are the ethical and professional equivalents of Cronkite, Sevareid and Murrow? Why are there so few willing to stand up and label tRump for the opportunistic, serial welching and bankrupting, lying racist demagogue that he is?
“Trumpmentum” is the manifestation of a huge elephant turd rolling into the abyss, and the ills of our society have paved the way. I hope that my country doesn’t end up in the elephant latrine.
Bribing a law enforcement official…Florida’s top law enforcement official…to avoid a criminal investigation? Isn’t that obstruction of justice, a Class-A felony?
I don’t know if this is truly new news but HuffPo just came out with an article about a fundraiser for Bondi by the Republican Party of Florida that was hosted at tRump’s Mar-a-Lago property, with Ghouliani and tRump as the main guests in attendance following his illegal contribution of $25,000 to her campaign, and following her dropping the suit against him.
What I find most interesting from the article is that the amount he listed with the FEC where he charged his own campaign to host an event for himself at Mar-a-Lago at $140,000, compared to what the Republican Party of Florida paid for this Bondi event, which was a measly $4,855. The price to attend the Bondi event was $3,000 too. They made up for the outlay with one person and a half persons attending basically. Even though the Bondi event was a much smaller gathering than a tRump event, the amount is particularly minuscule in comparison. So it must not have included the the main guests for their appearances either I’d guess. Or, they must have given their time as an in-kind donation as well. Just seems sleazy like most things tRump is involved in.
This situation is both more complicated and more devious than it appears.
Trump believes that if he donates to politicians they will do what he wants. If they do not,Trump behaves as if he were the one wronged.
Trump almost certainly knew that Trump U was fleecing people down on their luck. The techniques they were being taught were how to take advantage of other people down on their luck. The people who ran Trump U ran it with a view to avoid getting sued. Getting the people they had conned to write far more testimonials than could ever be used for advertising was a good way to make it both embarrassing and difficult for people to sue.
According to the New York Times 4 state AG’s received contributions. The circumstances were very different (The facts are largely from the NY Times but the interpretations are my own.):
A) Kamala Harris received 6,000 from Trump. Her office is investigating Trump and she has donated that money to charity thus avoiding even the appearance of impropriety.
B). An unknown number of weeks before her office announced they were looking into,Trump U, Bondi solicited a contribution from Trump. Both now explicitly acknowledge that they talked together. Both deny that any quid pro quo was discussed. Trump’s charitable foundation sent $25,000 to support Bondi four days after her office announced the investigation. This investigation was subsequently closed allegedly without crossing Bondi’s desk. It was illegal for any charitable foundation to donate the money (and probably illegal for her campaign to accept it of it was apparent on its face that it came from a charitable foundation.). The sequence is highly suspicious. Funneling the money through the Foundation looks more like an attempt to hide the transaction than the simple ‘clerical’ error Trump is now claiming. Wouldn’t any investigation have to start with asking the underlings how and why they came to close the investigation?
C) Glenn Abbot’s office investigated Trump U but inexplicably closed the investigation before filing suit. Mr. Abbott subsequently received a 35 thousand dollar contribution in his race for Governot.
D) Eric Schneiderman received 12,000 while he was running before he took won. His office currently has a suit in progress. It is commonplace for campaigns to resolicit people who have donated before. Trump claimed that these requests were de liberate shakedowns but his claims were rejected by the state’s ethics board, This fits with Trump’s m.o – accuse other people of what you are doing yourself. IIRC, in several conflicts at the start of his campaign Trump would allege that critics were grousing because he had refused to hire them and the critics would respond that the reverse was the case: they had refused to be hired. It was been reported that surrogates were explicitly told to toss back the same accusations that were made against them. It looks very much like Trump tried to embarrass Schneideman because he refused to be bought.
Have I correctly laid out what is currently known?
Some of the discrepancy could be if the Trump event was buying food there bad the Bondi event was not. We’d need to know what Trump charged other outsiders and who provided any food.
When does ‘pay to play’ cross the line to 'BRIBERY. She is an elected offical who accepted money for for special thratment.
Bribing an Officer of the Court is very serious.
Donald Trump bragged abot the speical threatment he gets from people he donates to. The Trump Foundation lied twice about this. Not only that they’re under investigation and may lose their charity status, Seems they take donors money but never do anythin with it…Donald thinks it’s his money to keep to do with as he wishes. You like all the money he claimed to take in help the Vets but never did, It took a watch-dog group to get him to pay up, and we’re not sure if ever did pay out what he priomised. And this is the man who calims as President he’ll take care of our Vets. He’s such a scum bag.
O, Donald you look real Presdentiial.
Fuck these people. Investigate the shit out of this. And put Trump’s name in capital letters if you have to every single goddamned day. The Republicans have earned this.
I want to see Boris Epshteyn doin’ the bullet dance. I want to see how Kellyanne Conway (does anyone really realize who her husband is? There’s a story there, folks) backs away from this shit.
I want to see Republicans learning what this feels like. They have spent 25+ years creating bullshit out of thin air. Let them eat this. Let Giuliani, Lewandowski, Pierson, Stone, hell let the fucking janitor talk their way out of this. It’s one thing to let Trump dance his way out of his immigration speeches. Let him dance his way out of this.
They want provable corruption? Let them eat this. Then ask them how this doesn’t look more horrible than anything they can accuse Hillary of. Put Bondi up against a Nobel Peace Prize winner.
Shut their little medicine show down. Put them on their back foot, and don’t let up on the pressure until November 9. Show the country what this crooked, real estate mobbed up piece of detritus really is. Show the country what this con man scammer really is. Hit him hard, and hit him often, and don’t take “no” for an answer. You all in the media have been a-hungerin’ for some old time political bribery? Here it is. Do your fucking job.
How many campaigns of attorneys general has Trump contributed to over the years? We should be able to find out this information. My understanding is that this is not something he does routinely. It is certainly very odd that he contributed to the FL and TX AGs and that the timing of the contributions coincided with their decision not to file charges against Trump U.
The donation in question – a $25,000 contribution from the Trump Foundation to a political group supporting Bondi’s re-election – was received just days after Bondi announced her office was considering joining a lawsuit led by New York against Trump University.
So the “Trump Foundation” isn’t a charity at all. It’s just a front for his influence buying.
