Makes sense. They’re a lot alike. Both male. Both shout a lot. Both bald (although only one admits it). And… and…

Republican Donald Trump’s presidential campaign is planning its next
coup: vying for the votes of Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) supporters who
say they won’t back Hillary Clinton in a general election.
…
From this independent dedicated voter who has strong feelings for his country:
NO FRIGGING WAY trump. You would be the last person I would vote for. I’ve posted before that you are the worst candidate for President in the 12 presidential elections I have voted in. Please, Donne, go back to fooling around with your hotels, your casinos, and doing deals with China. Leave the country to those skilled in governing.

Have I made it clear I’m not voting for Trump?

He’ll get support from many in the rust belt. This AFL-CIO supported study says as much as 1 in 4 Democrats.

Working America, the political organizing arm of AFL-CIO, wanted to find out whether Trump’s “rightwing” message appealed to workers outside Cleveland and Pittsburgh. After interviewing about 1,689 working-class Americans living in households earning less than $75,000, they found out that Trump was in fact the favored candidate. Of the 800 voters who had decided on a candidate at the time of the interview, about 300 favored Trump. Combined, the two Democratic candidates appealed to fewer workers – 174 chose Clinton and 95 chose Sanders.

“While most of Trump’s support comes from the staunch Republican base, one in four Democrats who chose a candidate showed a preference for Trump,” said Working America’s report.

I guess the assumption must be that if they won’t back the Democratic candidate they are demented & therefore fodder for the Trump campaign. I don’t see this as bringing him many votes.

“Who the hell are those 13 percent???”

They’re definitely not Bernie supporters.

More importantly if they are disgruntled liberals for a very blue state then no big deal…if they
are disgruntled liberals from Florida,Ohio,Colorado or Virginia than it is a big deal…Trump needs
a pollster…and a good one…Clinton has one of the best…

Speaking as one of those who voted for Sanders and will never vote for Clinton, I make it clear that there is nothing in Heaven, Hell, or Earth that could convince me to vote for Trump. I would either vote for Jill Stein, or write in Bernie Sanders.
Remember, Hillary is only slightly less UNPOPULAR that Trump is. Fifty-eight percent of Americans dislike Hillary Clinton, with 38% expressing a strong dislike.
Maybe, what should happen is the Bernistas should be trying to convince anti-Trump Republicans to write in Sanders. If there’re enough on BOTH sides who do this, then we can keep BOTH OF THEM out of the white House.
Contrary to the Shillaristas at TPM, there IS another option!

Stupid people like to vote against their own self interests. Union members voting for trump- hahah, that’s intelligent. Trump, who is at this very moment in a labor dispute with his hotel and casino workers.

Great Darr! I’d just add one thing so that everyone is clear – In a election between HRC and Trump, withholding a vote from her is effectively a passive vote for Trump.

Please, Trump violates the most fervent Berners’ “safe space” daily and they are going to vote for him?

With Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins leading the parade. “Vote Trump! Vote Trump, angry people – start the revolution!”

So you voted for Nader in 2000 then.

Like it or not, your plan makes you a 2000 Naderite which greatly helped/helps the GOP.
As for the “unpopular” (note small letters, not caps) percentages, that is heavily skewed towards while males. Trying to equate Donald and Hillary’s “unpopular” percentages out of context is a true red-herring. They are not the same just as the GOP and the Democrats are not the same.
As for using a term like “Shillaristas” (supposedly as a derogatory name), that sort of puerile name-calling really speaks volumes about your lack of critical thinking…and it is not good at all.

To be clear, I will not be withholding my vote.

I don’t believe that very many Bernie Supporters will switch to trump. I believe that by the time it is Election day that about between a third and half won’t vote at all.

I think its pretty much what the union study found; people with job insecurity, low income.

“Fed up” voters who value being independent but had little information and focus on specific issues: One male voter from Beaver County, Pennsylvania, said, “They’re all crooks and liars. Can’t trust any of them.” When asked who he would vote for, he said “Trump, ’cause at least he just says what he thinks!”
Low-information voters who knew Trump best from seeing him on TV every night: A woman from Medina, Ohio, hasn’t really kept up with the race but sees a lot of press on Trump. “He speaks the way I feel, but I’m not sure about his approach. He may need to be less inflammatory.” She voted for Obama in 2012 and gets a “fresh idea” vibe from Trump.

Me, and many millions like me, so there. We exist, for a good reason: to piss off the ignorant like you, and to avoid more destruction of our lives by Hillary, as did Obama and dubya. I voted for Obama, and have voted Democrat my entire life (now 68). But not any more. I almost voted for Ron Paul due to his policy of getting out of foreign entanglements, but his other policies were obnoxious. Rand Paul sort of reflected his father Ron: not towing the party line in many ways. The country is going down, just faster with Trump, but it’s time for revolution one way or another. I despise Hillary, and in fact, both party’s existence and politics.

When all those “Sanders” supporters vote Trump, HRC will make up the difference with centrists, independents and moderate republicans. The wailing that will ensue:
