The key point is that they are stupid and increasingly desperate. It is getting harder and harder to just dismiss what is clearly coming, even by just making up complete nonsense.

I think the dispute was about what Sloan actually said in front of the Grand Jury. And it had to do with whether he mentioned Haldeman specifically or by implication. I think. Thinking back to the movie. The book I read back in 1974 and the particular incident is not the one thing that still sticks with me (the whole Dirty Tricks issue and how Wategate had just scratched the surface still sticks with me). But in the movie, the Sloan kerfuffle (thanks, @mattinpa, see what you did?) is the proximate cause of Been Bradlee channeled by Jason Robards telling Woodstein to go home, take a hot bath, pull up their socks and get back to it, and not piss him off again. But it was their misinterpretation of Sloanās answer to a question about what he testified at the Grand Jury.

Having Singer pay for the investigation is the only way it makes sense for a fledgling, right-wing website to be involved. On their own. I canāt see them paying for it. I would imagine Trump turns Singer off. He would rather do his financial raping and pillaging of financially stressed countries quietly without the bombast and vulgarity that Trump stands for. I imagine he would also like to deal with politicians who are predictable.

Prior to pleading guilty for lying to Congress, Michael Cohen would have been entitled to all exculpatory/mitigating evidence related to his plea.
In other words, Team Cohen should have all the evidence that the Buzzfeed evidence cited, right?

Yes, IIRC they mistakenly said Sloan testified to the grand jury that Haldeman had controlled the slush fund, but although it was true about the slush fund, Sloan had never testified to the grand jury about it. So the inaccuracy was in how Sloan disclosed that information, not in the fact of Haldemanās control.
I am certain that the Trump people have all kinds of folks working on their behalf to set up false narratives in the media precisely to play out their spin.

Iām not sure I know what you mean by what is coming, but for me an impeachment investigation is coming, and certainly the calls for one are coming from people in a position to make it happen. Also the call from the Atlantic to do it before the Mueller report is released, similar to what happened in the Nixon admin. It will set these stupid and increasingly desperate people back on their heels, might even lead to a moment of clarity for moron and lead him to consider resigning (far out I know but Nixon did).

There is no reason that you should know. I intentionally used a vague phrase because I donāt know exactly what is coming as Mueller has played his cards very close to his vest and we only get glimpses that suggest many things that may or may not ultimately happen. Trump, on the other hand, knows what he did (even if he can justify it in his own, tiny, mind). Presumably he has a better sense that whatever is coming, it is something that he does not control and will not like.

Yes, of course, this all makes sense. 45 knows nothing but he thinks he knows everything, or at least makes sounds to try to convince the uninformed he knows everything. It sucks to be him right about now.
