So he is going to gleefully dance because because the direction was “let’s tell this story (which wasn’t true) to Congress about my dealing with Russia regarding the TT Moscow deal instead of “ go to congress and LIe”. That frankly is a difference without distinction. Oh and Trump left the paper trail to someone else.

The fact is the public record already establishes that Cohen lied to Congress to help Trump. Cohen aligned his statement to Trump’s public message which itself was based on lies intended to discredit and obstruct the investigation. Cohen conferred closely with WH aides and Trump’s legal team to align and refine his testimony to Trump’s false narrative. That’s obstruction right there. This is really a debate about not very much. There is a small gap between what the public filings establish and what Buzzfeed alleges.
If Trump were dumb enough to leave an evidence trail where he picked up a phone or wrote a message to Cohen specifically telling him in writing to lie, the Republicans should just shoot themselves for having invested in a crook that dumb. This is about whether Trump is a dumb crook or a not so dumb crook. He’s still a crook and the legal filings prove it.
The dossier was not discredited.
Furthermore, either Jeb Bush or Washington Free Beacon paid for the research. Hillary’s campaign was contacted by Fusion when they were no longer paid by either of those two. She did not hire them from the start. Fusion is owned and run by right-wing journalists who had previously attacked Hillary in the press.

Put it this way—a lot of people are comparing this to the Hugh Sloan credibility kerfuffle in the early days of the Watergate scandal breaking open. That was a procedural mixup that nobody would even remember today, and most people don’t, except it was a chapter in the major bestseller and huge motion picture about the entire situation. This is almost certainly a similar thing and the overall story today is heading for a foreseeable conclusion as inexorably as a Greek tragedy.
And for Christ’s sake, editorial world, the Steele thing was raw information meant to serve as a basis for further investigation. The truth or falsity of particular assertions within it does not matter in the scheme of things, and it was never put forward as provably true or meant to be judged and valued that way. Please don’t continue to talk about it otherwise.

Mueller didn’t “deny” the BuzzFeed reporting. Try making a headline with the actual words of the press release, and you’ll see.
Perhaps this will be a fleeting glee.
Lots of professional acumen at play on this site, in terms of “angst” over the OSC anouncement. The TPM posters I saw starting with yesterday evening were aware of the “distinction without a difference” aspect of all of this.
Practically no one is made “more confident in Drumpf” except maybe those who would believe Drumpf if he said New York was south of Houston.
