Please make this into a widespread thing and get people to pledge to it. Please.

[Clovis said that if he’s chosen as a delegate for Iowa voters at the convention, he would follow “the will of the people.” He then threatened to leave the GOP “forever” if “the will” wasn’t followed.]

My favourite Dionne Warwick song was entitled, “Promises Promises”.

Clovis has a point.

Metaphorically, of course. Literally, he’'s all arcs.

Watching this fat, ugly, rancid, over-privileged ratfuck Republican asshole, I start thinking of a scene from what is probably the greatest “B” movie of all time.
“You should lay off those candy bars.” LOL!

I was thinking, “Thar he blows!”

Translated : “I’ll technically be an independent, but I will continue to vote for every single Republican in every single election.”

Clovis used he word ‘graciousness’ a couple times here. Trump and the GOP are a lot of things – but gracious is not one of them.

“B” movie? Hmm, a minor quibble. Film noir? Yes. “B”? No.

In 1993 Touch of Evil was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant”.

Touch of Evil was placed #64 on American Film Institute’s “100 Years” list in 2001.

Somewhere there are plans being made to assemble alternative slates of delegates for states that Trump won - and then there will be a “credentials” holy war on the floor of the convention - over which slate should be recognized.

And he will work for any Republican that pays him.

HEY!!! JABBA!!! will you promise to leave the country if Donnie Dimwit actually gets the nomination and loses to Hillary?

Oh, I agree. The film is a masterpiece. I did not mean “B” movie in terms of quality, but due to the fact it was filmed on a tight budget and treated by the studio as unworthy. The major stars, Heston and Leigh, wanted to work with the great Welles, which is why they took far below their usual salary, and the incredible supporting cast, including Marlene Dietrich, Joseph Cotten, Zsa Zsa Gabor, and Mercedes Mc Cambridge (who is incredible and almost unrecognizable as a Mexican peuedo-lesbian motorcycle drug bunny, or something to that effect) all were friends of Welles and wanted to work with him on the film.
I remember first seeing the movie when I was about 16, on TV in Chicago at about 2 AM on a weekend and I was blown away. I couldn’t believe anyone could make a movie which showed such a sleazy side of human nature in 1958. And I love it more each time I watch it. But, once more, I agree totally that the film is a film noir classic. Oh, and Akim Tamiroff should have gotten an Oscar for his role. He was hilarious and frightening at the same time.

For every Clovis who threatens to leave the GOP if Trump is NOT the nominee, there is another 'pub who will threaten to leave the GOP if Trump IS the nominee.

And that’s how the party splits. The only remaining question is which side forms the new, competing party for the next election cycle because “party healing” no longer appears to be a viable strategy.

(feet doing happy dance under desk…)

“And If we get close, the tradition of the Republican Party has been that the person who has come the closest is normally—the graciousness and unity of the party is important.”

Wow. This is basically a plea for the observance of norms. If he really believes this, then he’s already outside the modern Republican Party.

Leave the country? The motherfucker can’t even fit through the goddamned exit door!
