“I have a deputy, appoints a man to write a report on me, to make a determination on my presidency."
Mueller was not appointed to “write a report” on you nor to “make a determination” on your presidency. He was appointed to conduct an investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election and whether there were any links and/or cooperation between the Russian government and individuals associated with your campaign, and any matters that may arise directly from the investigation. The report is simply required by law.
I will be somewhat surprised if there’s any report today. Or anything other than a regular day for the SCO, maybe an indictment is coming down or something. Personally speaking, it seems like there are lots of loose ends still out there.
I think the drum-up provides more of a pretext for Trump to shut it down if Mueller is still going by the fall. There are a bunch of things that haven’t happened yet, such as indictments against people in the Trump Org structure (aside from Cohen), and I think those would need to happen before we begin to get to the level where they go after Trump’s family.
So, we will see, but I doubt the “end” is today. What’d be kinda funny is if Mueller put out a single-page “I’m still working” thing, with maybe one or two paragraphs.
Another implied threat from the orange con man. But I am already standing, and at least trying
to be optimistic that I get to applaud when the report is released.
There’s disparagement and disparagement. Mueller’s long career has taught him how to make it clear that Trump is guilty as hell without “disparaging him.” Not saying Mueller will do that, but he could.
I am still thinking that Trump has sort of confessed again (without realizing it). He says, “I have a deputy, appoints a man to write a report on me to make a determination on my presidency. People will not stand for it.”
The entire point of the investigation was to determine if there was foreign meddling/influence in the U.S. election of 2016. Trump is the only person saying “it is about me”. He is the person suggesting that he is culpable.
