Cmon fat ass. Hold a rally in a major city in a populated state. We’re waiting.
Yeah, they absolutely loooove him in Manhattan. Hold a ticker-tape parade in NYC, Donald. There are plenty of New Yorkers who want to shower you with their old window air conditioners.
Of course it’s all about Dotard.
Is this really the lesson they’re learning, that the party is a HeMan Woman Haters Club? Is this going to sink in with enough women in 30 days?
He did have to pay momentary lip service to give cover to a sham investigation, intimidate the waverers and run out the clock.
At the same time he had to hot-wire the brain-stems of tens of millions Trumpistas so that they could feel that, whatever happens, they are the real victims. The usual. As long as Trump knew that Flake and Collins would merely tut-tut his comments but then knuckle under, he lost nothing being his usual desecrating self. I’d guess he also is trying to inoculate himself from future charges over his own various sexual transgressions.
Different audiences. Mockery works great for the red meat goofballs.
He would, but not even the largest stadium in the country could hold the crowds he’d draw and he doesn’t want to disappoint his fans by leaving them outside looking in. Besides, he’s a populist man of the people so he’ll continue to go to the forgotten hamlets where the real American patriots will jam the High School gym to bask in the glow of the greatest president since Lincoln. “Great president. Most people don’t even know he was a Republican, right?"
Did anyone notice that Kavanaugh has about an 8th grade vocabulary? How can someone have an Ivy League education and be in law and speak/write at the level he does? His intellect is vastly overstated.
For quite a while he was. This is one reason Trump will never attack Russia. Piss-tapes and money-laundering, too, of course.
“Trump Says His Decision to Mock Blasey Ford Was Turning Point for Kavanaugh”
And he is right.
In this craven, amoral, un patriotic, hell hole of a Republican party. His actions continue to bear fruitful results.
I have been quiet and introspective through this process as I always believed they would confirm him. On the other side of this period is an acceptance of the fact that as I see it America will be brought to its knees by the Republican party. Led by the corruption and amorality of those in charge.
Sid Miller is a piece of garbage. Also, do not expect neanderthal republicans to understand satire. It is too sophisticated for their little brains. We have to face the sad fact that the people you see at these rallies are not nice people that do not live in the same world we do. No matter the reason, we cannot excuse or tolerate their terrible behavior.
Being an ex-Ohioan I understand the trauma and pain that these folks have felt as their lives changed and their children moved away. I get it. But anyone with half a brain knows that there are many factors that influenced these events starting in the 1960s and continuing to this day. Being informed, studying the issues and voting accordingly is what is required. It is easy to blame a small group for the issues but we all know that is just not reality.
But, despite the bluster of Trump and McConnelll, I believe women are unbelievably pissed and are going to show it. Trump and the GOP just can’t see it because they remain in their FoxNews bubble.
Totally agreed on this. In some ways, I kinda feel like this could be described as a watershed moment. The kind of anger generated against Bart isn’t something that blows over and we go back to reset. I got the sense that all kinds of people (not just women) saw Bart for what he truly is. I honestly don’t think there will be a business as usual to this episode.
As Bart so viciously pointed, what comes around goes around.
ETA: We’re not staring down the face of a constitutional crisis; it’s already here. We’re in it now.
Topeka. Population under 250000.
Trump’s antics cost the GOP Murkowski’s vote and Heitkamp’s vote. It forced Mitch to call in his chips on Collins and put her 2020 seat at risk. He didn’t help their cause. This is just revisionist history.
Trump, in other words, to Senate: Who owns you? Call me Daddy.
Edit to add:
After seeing @khyber900:
Typical Trump revisionist bullying.
I get that but the problem the senators had was voting for a rapist when some of them have to run statewide in a few weeks and many need to get at least some votes from the other party. Trump sure didn’t help with that one. We’re going to find out how well it works to keep the base happy and absolutely disgust and enrage larger segments of the population—the woman segment, to be concise, and men who get it. That’s a lot of people.
Plus Trump will pivot back to Rosenstein and trying to stop Mueller.
OT: He will not come back here. I also believe that Princess Complicit and the Kush might not make it back either. Melanie most likely will. There’s way too much animosity towards them (at least in the City). Throw in the idea that he owes back taxes to us and it just isn’t going to be pleasant.
However, having said that, FL will most likely have a Black governor. How will he deal with that?
Trump’s rhetoric made me think of Southey’s “Battle of Blenheim,” in which an old Bavarian man is sitting at his cottage when his grandchildren come up to him with a skull they’ve found in a rivulet. Two stanzas:
"They say it was a shocking sight
After the field was won;
For many thousand bodies here
Lay rotting in the sun;
But things like that, you know, must be
After a famous victory.
“Great praise the Duke of Marlbro’ won,
And our good Prince Eugene.”
“Why, 'twas a very wicked thing!”
Said little Wilhelmine.
“Nay… nay… my little girl,” quoth he,
"It was a famous victory.
What the actual fuck.
Well, his president has a 3rd grade one. He fits right in.
