Then consider Trump’s id to being like Mojo and Manafort’s to being like Mojo’s majordomo. Now that would make possibly mean that Ivanka is Spiral…
and this cycle has constantly proven that until next week, if not November; these usual self inflicted and very fatal wounds will likely have to be ignored as scratches. In their eyes, the new GOP nominee still has a ‘puncher’s chance’ to win this election and things like that McIver mess is just an unfortunate broken egg, whose sour remains can be tossed as an expendable loss.
Now the party elders haven’t and likely will not toss away those two sets of books in regards to Trump and their downriver candidates. If Trump can get over and again get viewed as the umpteenth coming of the Mahdi, then it will be ‘way to go, Donald.’ ‘You da man.’ coming from RNC HQ. However if Trump’s campaign were to drown, but the downriver guys win and in turn maintain legislative control, the party elders can cart out the excuse of ‘well we tried and we tried to warn em…’
whether the latter theory is actually feasible has yet to be determined.

But the odds on them holding the Senate have gotten much worse, in just the past week. The Indianaseat, which was a leaning red if not out and out solid red…is now solid blue.
In fact, IL, WI and IN have all become solid blue in the polling…with PA, OH, NH, AZ, NC, IA and FL up for grabs or leaning our way. We only need 2 of them to win back the Senate. I think the odds are extremely good we take all of them.

This little diatribe always reminded me of Hermann Goering in his prime. At a press conference with foreign journalists where Goering was extolling the virtues of Nazi Germany, one of the reporters said, “You realize, of course, that this is all lunacy?” Goering replied, “If what he have done here is lunacy, then lunacy becomes us.”
I have always considered that “Lunacy becomes us” is the hall- and mintmark of both the Bush presidency and the Trump campaign.

Yes, its a Democratic poll…but that is a huge lead in any poll.
EDIT: IMO, (obviously others can disagree, and many, many do on this point) Sabato has a bit of a right slant in his takes on things. He tends to discount polling and go with “fundamentals” when it benefits republicans, and vice versa when it benefits democrats. WI leaning, for example…Feingold has been ahead in every single poll of that state, and has held a double digit lead for quite some time now.
But that is merely “leaning”?
At what point does it become likely for goodness sakes?
