Amateur hour.
“Four current administration officials, including Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats, Acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe, NSA Director Michael Rogers, and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, are also expected to answer questions about the Russia probe and Comey’s firing in a separate Senate Intelligence Committee hearing on Wednesday.”
Well, so much for that.
Disgraceful, lie-filled remarks by Trump at Kentucky’s Greater Cincinnati Airport just now.
I honestly did not expect things to become so horrible so early into Trump’s presidency. I thought things would move much more slowly. On the other hand, I’m glad things are spiraling out of control, because it just proves what most people believed - Trump is not up to the job. He’s too corrupt, too unstable, and too stupid for such a tough job.
Re Trump Airlines: He’s just the guy to fix air traffic control.
Entirely possible, and…
At this point every person he fires removes one more person he can blame for all his own mistakes.
And he has to get his pick confirmed by the Senate. Which, even if they are still covering for him, will be dicey in this political climate.
They may be a minority but they are still the majority of the political majority. Trump still has the support of a strong majority of Republicans and an overwhelming majority of those who voted for him.
Moreso, even in his worst polls Trump is substantially more popular than Congress. For anything to change, the average Republican in Congress has to feel there is political advantage in running away from Trump. There is still more potential risk than reward in that. For many of these people the biggest risk to their reelection is getting primaried from the right, not losing to a Democrat.
I believe that event’s after the committee hearing. I think it’s at a lunch.
That explains how he can live tweet it then. Thanks.
Bruni has a good piece on how donnie is running out of people to blame. Love this bit on the souring relationship between donnie and Sessions:
"Jeff Sessions? What a bust. True, he was never the nimblest newt in the swamp and had all that racial muck in his past. But he mirrored his master’s irreverence and atavism, with slighter dimensions and a Southern accent: Donald in a Dixie cup."
Let’s hope his tweeting is as self-destructive as usual.
I’m wondering if Republicans in Congress would continue to support this so-called President if he were to literally set fire to the White House.
One ponders such things, as the answer is not an obvious one.
Sessions is an early adopter among that unusual breed of rats who will actually board a sinking ship. It isn’t entirely his fault how quickly his population has dwindled.
Guess who’s coming to dinner…
Sessions likes Donalds similar prejudices but he’s found out only in working for him that Donald is even dumber in person than he appeared to be on TV.
I regret that I have but one like to give to Austin_Dave …
Close to the end and late at night with drink in hand, Tricky wandered the lower floors looking at presidential portraits. Cold sober, Tyrannosaurus would try to rip JFK off the wall.
Who could have known it would be a daily shit show. He was such an eloquent and polished gentleman during the primary.
I had this passing thought… I’m wondering, after trump’s foray into the Middle East quagmire a couple weeks ago, if he still feels he knows more than the generals about ISIS. Just a couple days ago a serious dust up flared between various Gulf States and Saudi Arabia against Qatar for their supposed support of terrorism. The support aspect apparently is from a Russian fake news plant and it completely suckered trump into tweeting a grenade into the mess and really messing up the crisis. He seems to have forgotten we have a major military base in Qatar and his twittering has put those troops at risk.
Does he still think he knows more than the generals? His actions say otherwise.
Donald still has the “football” at his immediate beck and call 24/7. I hope that there will be someone sane enough to prevent his getting it, should he wish to use it.
