Discussion for article #222049
“Reform” = “Defund/Destroy/Declare them Illegal… or something.”
Sometimes some folks just refuse to accept the obvious:
“Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA), the No. 4 Republican in the House, admitted that Obamacare is likely here to stay, ***despite House Republicans’ 50 votes to repeal the law.***” ( I added the bolded italics)
How many times do they need to be told that anti ACA votes aren’t going anywhere? 50? 60? 100?
Only two choices about the ACA -
- It’s the second coming of Joe Stalin, in which case you are now cowards for giving in.
- It’s NOT the second coming and you turds wasted an unbelievable amount of our time & money chasing unicorns.
Personally, I gotta go with #2
“It is a top-down, one-size-fits-all approach to health care,” McMorris Rodgers said, adding that she thinks consumers should have more choice within the exchanges.
No,it isn’t one size fits all. One can choose all sorts of plans for all sorts of premiums. The only commonality are certain things added by the law such as pre-existing conditions to insurance policies. Each state is unique inits exchange. Some states have chosen to not participate. No it isn’t one size fits all…at all.
Surely they can improve it by cutting taxes for everyone making over $10,000,000
Ruh ro raggy, she’s trying to sound reasonable, queue the angry Tea Party primary challenge.
But what she is really doing is getting the mainstream media to run a story about “reasonable Republicans”, then she’ll run to talk radio and assure the base there will be another 50 repeal votes.
Reasonable republicans? Where? What? it’s been a long time since the repubs have been reasonable it seems.
“Surely they can improve it by cutting taxes for everyone making over $10,000,000.”
Well you do know that it is really really hard to make ends meet with such a paltry income. I mean really hard. (((Facepalm)))
“I believe there is a path that we get a bill on the floor by August,”
Why wait so long to put forward a bill that isn’t going anywhere?
How many times do you have to get hit by a virtual 2x4 in legislative failure to repeal the “dreaded Obamacare” over 50+ damn times to have finally figured that one out, Ms. Brainiac?
As Yoda would say, “Not bright is she.”
There isn’t a single reality based word in her comments. They want to add choice to the exchanges? There already is a lot of choice. It’s a one size fits all solution for health care? Hardly. We still have a mosaic of payers, plans and providers.
“You’re seeing where they’ve had to reduce programs for the very people it’s meant to help,” she said. “Somebody’s going to have to pay the bill.”
Lie, actually. Same lie Billy Joe Jimbob Jindal is spouting down in Louisiana to confuse the goobers about why he wouldn’t accept the Medicaid expansion money. And hello? Still fully funded.
But god forbid we debunk it since she’s “admitting” she can’t repeal Obamacare.
Guess there weren’t enough Bettes in Spokane to help out the wingnut anti-Obamacare crusade, huh, Cathy?
Seems to me it’s not her that isn’t bright…it’s her base, which just can’t accept the reality of the last 2 Presidential elections.
She went along with it, didn’t she? Pandering to her base may make her look smart to some. I happen to think it makes her look craven trying to do over and over again what they have no way of passing into law, merely to send a message…Meanwhile all other legislative activity comes to a complete halt because these boneheaded votes to repeal have sucked all the life and necessary lawmaking out of that legislative body that might benefit from passing some actual needed legislation in this country. How’s that helping her constituents? No, she’s not bright at all, and anyone that votes for her isn’t bright either…that much, I’ll give you.
You don’t actually think any of these naysayers has actually read the bill or gone into any of the exchanges. This ditz doesn’t even realize the federal website was so complex because it, in addition to all the things a single state exchange has to do, has to accommodate all the insurance rules and regulations of every idiot Republican state that refused to set up an exchange. She is even more clueless that the rest of her ilk in the House.
Oh, they tried to be reasonable! They tried! They told Obama if he’d just do exactly what they wanted on every subject and every policy and every budget and every tax cut for the rich, nobody would get hurt. That’s reasonable, isn’t it?
Unfortunately, there are a shitload of redneck assholes outside of Sea-Tac and the university cocoons, and she knows they’re the ones who’ll keep her in her job.
I’m so sorry Ms. Rogers, but what exactly is your point about the train wreck your party tried to repeal over 50 times?
