Watching a Republican pimp herself to “consumers” would be funny–if it were not just disgusting.
Every week in the month of August is devoted to something called “Constituent Work Week.” which sounds like the House is not going to be in D.C. Why even talk of bring up a repeal/replace/reform mashup when the hard working critters will be home dialing for dollars?
Correct me if I’m wrong, but haven’t we read this exact story a dozen times now? “In a rare moment of candor, top GOP official So-And-So admitted that the ACA was here to stay.” Even Cruz has “moderated” his “repeal every word” lines with stuff about how it’ll be an uphill battle, etc.
All these admissions and acknowledgements and candid statements do not seem to have resulted in any actual change in the GOP’s strategy or rhetoric on the law. Maybe we should stop treating them as such?
The GOP will embrace Obamacare ten microseconds after they’ve wrung the last drop of juice out of hating it–just like they did with Medicare, Social Security, the EITC, and other popular social programs. (You’ll know it’s happened when they start calling it “Gippercare.”) We’re not there yet, and all these “admissions” aren’t signals that it’s coming.
The pigs must feed at the trough somehow. They’ve been doing it non-stop for 4 years since the Teabaggers got into office. No way they’ll stop now selling out to the highest big donor bidders in their party. The Kochs have them led around by the rings in their noses.
Why is any woman a Republican? I just don’t understand that all. So many GOP policies are hostile towards women, and the basic lack of respect of women by the GOP is obvious. WTF?
Sure, it’s wrong, but it makes a good soundbite. And that’s what matters to a GOPer. Oh, and Medicaid expansion is NOT unsustainable. Unless you give billionaires another tax cut, in which case everything is unsustainable.
Did she say how those ethics violations are coming along?
Republicans: A little slow, but they eventually get the message…after they take a serious bludgeoning.
Is there anyone running against this clown? She needs to be unseated!
Ms Rogers is the #4 in seniority in the House apparently yet she is clueless about what it is she opposes. No I think she hasn’t read much at all about the ACA. She is exhibiting all the characteristics of someone infected by the well known and researched “Fox News effect” She is against the ACA simply because she was told to do so. Nothing deeper than that. And she parrots the “one size fits all” meme which any thinking human would realize just could not be true.
Americans don’t need this twisted wingnut to “reform” the exchanges. McMorris-Rodgers and her Dick Armey Republicans thinks sabotage is “reform.”
There will be more insurance companies on the exchanges next year because there are a lot of potential customers and money to be made.
We do not need Ms. Rogers and her Dick Armey Party butting in and screwing everything up.
As usual she offers nothing specific.
The GOP always has to be dragged, kicking, and screaming into the real world. Like taking a five year old kid to the dentist.
Reforming the exchanges? Whoa, Nelly! Is this because your state crushed the enrollment, second only to Vermont in percentage of eligible population enrolled? If so, keep your mitts off. OTOH, if you want to encourage some of your kindred red states to get with the program and start up their exchanges, like the law envisioned, be my guest.
Hope this serves as a blast of cold water to the teabaggers’ enthusiasm for November and/or inspiration for more teabagger GOP primary challenges.
Maybe she should support a Public Option CHOICE too?
Why not start with the bill the Senate sent to them? Duh!
Willful ignorance = plausible deniability?
Perhaps her party could have cooperated from the outset. We may have had a better law from the start. We certainly would have wasted a lot less time and money.
