Discussion: Top NC Senate GOPer Wants To Put Anti-LGBT Law On November Ballot

Honestly, if it wouldn’t end up being a big pile of special interest money dictating the election with misleading ads, I’d be ok for this. If the majority of NCers voted for it, at least you’d argue it was in fact the will of the voters. It would have consequences, but at least citizens would have had their say. If it was shot down, then the elected officials would have to abide by it for same reason.

Huh…He looks like a sinker to me.

So, Senator Apo-caca floated an idea having to do with bathrooms. Sometimes my “ideas” float, too.

Now that is an image of a man consumed with fear.

But you know the GOP-ers would not live with it. They would interpret a NO vote as meaning they had not gone far enough, and write a tougher law.

Oh, trust me, it’s already on the ballot dipshit. And how well you know it.

Hey Dickhead…are you gonna put the WHOLE law on the ballot? You know the part where you won’t let anybody up the minimum wage cuz $7.25 an hour is just ‘fine’ with y’all? Are you gonna manipulate the ballot so people ‘think’ it’s just about the big scary MEN that wanted to transgender to women so they could go into the ladies room with STALLS and scare your wife and child? C’mon…show us your manliness…

Yes, the legislature getting blamed for being a toxic stew of rabid homophobia is so unfair. So let’s have 10 million people go on the record as being similarly depraved. Spread the blame.

I find it impossible to believe that there is not more pressing legislation needed in The Tarheel State. Congratulations to Art Pope et al.; you have successfully bought a state. Disgusting.

Just the bathroom provision of the new law? What about the minimum wage provision? The discrimination lawsuit provision?

Wow. Who would’a thought it of North Carolina? Stalin used to try and get blood on as many people’s hands as possible, too.

Rights for minorities – civil rights, human rights – should never, ever, ever be subject to votes of majorities. Never.

It is quite likely he would like to put slavery on the ballot too.

This scares me. If he’s saying this, he’s probably had someone do the polling and liked the results. This way, they can wash their hands of any blame.

"Top NC Senate GOPer… "

Nothing against NC which is a fine state, but a “Top NC Senate GOPer” is pretty far down the de-evolutionary ladder. We’re heading back to the muck here.

Bluntly, if the state as a whole votes to uphold it, as reprehensible as it may be, the legislators are actually doing their jobs (i.e. representing the will of the majority of the electorate).
