Damn, you stole my thought.
Slavery was on the ballot once
The South lost and then it became a 'second amendment remedy".
haha! So, perfectly smart and stupid at the same timeā¦the best kind of humor.
Voters would be able to affirm or nix that portion of the new law in November.
That is exactly what they want " that portion of the law" leaving the other bull shit elements as is.
EDIT to add: once the bathroom portion is ____ they will proclaim that the āpeopleā had the opportunity to vote for the other provisions as well and they decided it was a-ok.
Oh, I agree wholeheartedly. Any opportunity a Southern state takes to prove their retrograde bona fides is fine with me. The more reasons they all present to dissuade business development and the movement of sentient humans to their region the better. I havenāt lost hope theyāll eventually be declared a vanquished 3rd world hellhole, thus qualifying for massive airstrikes and a comprehensive trade embargo. You know, the usual treatment the United States employs when dealing with such regions.
"If we vote on it, it has to be Constitutional, right?
Correct. This law is so much more than the bathroom provision. Workers not being able to sue at the state level, that their only path is through federal courts, is crazy and laughable at the same time.
Yeah because letting a majority of people vote on the rights of a minority ALWAYS works out so well.
Sorry Mr. Apodaca, this isnāt The Gong Show! God Almighty!
Thank you?
Anything to drive the evangelicals to the polls. If the evangelicals are aroused and the minority vote is suppressed, the Republicans have a shot at maintaining control and their mission to destroy the lives of the 99% is on track.
Calling my shot: Dudeās pee-shy and VERY particular about how, when, and where he can whizz.
Dirty hippy
youāre welcome. Wasnāt snark. Meant it.
I humbly suggest you vote on which bathroom the good state senator uses.
It is important to note that the part of the bill he wants to put up for vote is the part that is unquestionably unconstitutional. Furthermore, this law is about negative rights. That seems the wrong way to phrase a question to voters. A better idea would be to craft a comprehensive rights bill that extends state anti discrimination protection, much like the Charlotte law and see how that does.
Would you rather be known as the state where rights just barely failed to pass a popular vote, or the state whose voters voted to take away rights?
Next up weāre gonna let the people vote on wether negro boys can date our white daughters. /s
And speaking of ballots, NC Democratic AG Roy Cooper is ahead of McCrory in RCP polling in governorās race. McCrory canāt believe his message of prosperity and not expanding Medicare is not resonating.
They do this to drive their base to the polls. Itās red meat for the base. So of course they have to gin this up in a general election year to try to give their voters a push to go vote. They are so effing transparent.
Still getting dumber I see.
