Discussion for article #225592
The GOP talkin’ shit. If there’s a Democratic awake this morning in Washington, pick up the bullhorn, turn it up to 11, put it about an inch from Majority Whip Steve Scalise ear and shout him down, all the way down.
Or else just give the fuck up!
Then the Republicans are going to have to ride out the backlash from their failed impeachment efforts. At this point getting impeached by the House won’t even tarnish President Obama’s legacy.
Then go ahead. What are you waiting for. Draw up Articles of Impeachment and go for it.
Scalise = Typical GOP wimp.
Asking the question repeatedly, without specifying “even though it would be a pointless exercise,” is done strictly to egg them on. Fox News plays a variety of roles.
As the GOP contemplates holding the gun of impeachment to their own head and pulling the trigger, I can only cheer the Republican lemmings over the cliff of diminishing relevance that they’re teetering upon. DO IT!
Lunatics obsessively self-stimulating, that is all this is.
The poor guy can’t even answer a simple question. So the GOP promotes such a mental deficient individual to the Whip position. Wow are they really a dumb as they seem? This guy sure is since all he said was talking points.
C’mom, I double-dog dare you to do it.
I think they’re just stupid enough to try it.

Fixed that for you.
But the Associated Press tells us that “both sides of the aisle” unhappy with Obama leadership. I do so very hope that Democrats can realize that their hurt fee fees will be used by the media to fan flames on this sh&tstorm of an impeachment story…but I don’t have high hopes.
And of course when he said that Republicans have been working hard for every day people Wallace asked him for specifics, right? Seriously, other than passing a bill to unlock cell phones, can anyone name one productive thing that Republicans have done lately?
Ah, my boy Steve. I knew he’d be a winnah. Go ahead and impeach, Stevie. Threatening a lawsuit is wimping out.
Also, and I don’t even know why I bother, but would it kill TPM to point out that Obama hasn’t said one word about impeachment, nor has anyone in the White House?
Just because Scalise says the WH is trying to push this doesn’t make it so. Would be a refreshing change to have some fact-checking appear in this piece.
Although, I am sympathetic to the reality that fact-checking GOP talking points would turn into a 24/7 job.
Alas, it takes only the mildest expression of irritation on some minor issue–the kind of institutional friction the Founders baked into the Constitutional cake–to provide sufficient equivalence for the opportunistic raving of the right to churn out yet another stupid season story.
Please, you pale-faced toad: run an impeachment. See how that works for you.
If the GOP really has no intention of impeaching the man and it’s the President who supposedly is the only person bringing it up, then why is it so hard for Republicans rule it out? Why will they not just step forward and say “We have no intention of impeaching the President and will not vote upon Articles of Impeachment”?
The answer is simple: Because their base would abandon them in a heartbeat if they ever popped that particular balloon. They’ve gotta give them some hope that the President will be removed from office in disgrace, so they’ll keep hemming and hawing about impeachment but never actually putting the kibosh on it.
Please proceed, Congressman.
You’ve illuminated the breath-taking cynicism of today’s GOP. (Aided and abetted by networks and cable).
They’re scared to tell their nutcase base they won’t impeach, and scared to tell the sane people they will. Cowards.
