Less “asking” and more legislating, please. You represent a coequal branch of government.
But yeah, looks like Trump’s bold new pro-child-abduction agenda may have some fairly soft support. Shocker.
Trump must be furious. He’s probably so angry that he’s demanded that Attorney General Sessions demand that Speaker Ryan demand that Rep. Yoder immediately resign.
I appreciate hearing from yoder on this, but let’s see some action. I would be willing to bet that he continues to vote for party over principle every time, just like nearly every other republican in Congress.
Until Ryan and McConnell see anything of value to themselves in doing so, they will not attempt in any way to thwart the administration policy. Neither of them have ever done something simply for the good of the country, nor for any particular group other than those who are their personal benefactors. To expect those men to stand up for a constituency that can do nothing for them is pissing into the wind.
I have to admit, I was surprised to hear this from a Republican in a Red State.
I presume his district must not be sufficiently gerrymandered.
Posted on another thread.
This needs to stop immediately, but if the Republicans want to make the midterms a referendum on this heinous policy, they’re as stupid as they are corrupt.
I’ve posted this question before: how long before these people are simply “disappeared” by the Trump regime?
The MSM took a couple days to wake up and respond to this travesty.
GOP, your clock is ticking.
both Stivers and Fortenberry are in protected districts.
The only thing that can hobble them this yr. is POTUS.
There’s a leak in the dam. This isn’t going away. Every excuse Republicans have given has fallen flat. They are not going to weather this one.
What I want to know is how the son of a social worker became a Republican?
OK, the pup is darling. Thanks for something not so depressing.
The Repuglicants are breaking.
From a political standpoint, that’s too bad: sticking with this policy would probably cost them dearly at the polls in November, even in districts where they stood a chance of holding on before.
From a human standpoint, very good: this policy was as cynical as it was monstrous and it needs to be reversed yesterday. The only reason the break cannot be considered fantastic is because it is predictably too little, too late; weak tea on a lacerated wound.
But either rebuts the Mango Maniac and puts his knickers in the wringer so mostly good; the kids and their parents hoping for succor and refuge from their troubles excepting.
Slightly off the exact topic but close enough to be infuriating
A few days ago I’d have rolled my eyes at that. Today? I don’t doubt it could happen.
Words. Words. Words. Until you actually DO something, this is all just hot air. DO YOUR JOB, congressman. And yes, it will mean standing up to the idiot in the white house, so you may want to work on growing that spine already.
Good for you, Rep. Yoder, but this isn’t only being used as a deterrent.
The leader of your Party, Trump admitted today that he’s using the kidnapped children as hostages to get his border wall.
