Discussion: Top Google Debate Search On Cruz: 'Why Was Ted Cruz Born In Canada?'

Genius.

Yeah, so was my father. He (my father) was no communist though. Neither am I. Ted has a bucket full of faults and is the biggest asshole in the race, but the Cuba connection is an absurd meme.

[While Trump dominated search engine queries during the Fox News/Google debate despite skipping out on the event, viewers were also searching out more information about the Texas senator, Fox News reported.

The top question: "Why was Ted Cruz born?]

Don’t blame me for trying.

"Historical research and legal debate as to the meaning of the term and the proper theories to be used to used when construing the Constitution?

lol! thanks for the laugh. My wife enjoyed it also.

Man, that sounds like somebody pulled a real good bit of Google-bombing there…

For the record: Cruz’s father,a refuge Cuban, became a Canadian citizen and chose to remain so until 2005. Both parents appeared on a Canadian voter roll which was formed by people akin to census workers asking about adults in the household. Ted is a natural born Canadian as the Framers of the Constitution understood the term and is an American citizen since birth by virtue of a statute.

The top question: ā€œWhy was Ted Cruz born in Canada?ā€

Wild guess: Because that’s where his mother was when she had her little bundle of joy.

This is where abstinence-only sex education gets you.

Number 4 was ā€œWhat cuz a him bein’ bornt in Canadia an all is Ted Cruise to do with bein Predisent an sech?ā€

Assuming his mother became a Canadian the oath she took would specify she gave up her US citizenship. In that case when he was born in Canada his mother a canadian citizen and not an American citizen. So Ted Cruz was a canadian and not a person with dual citizenship. If instead she did not take the oath to become a Canadian citizen become a Canadian, she would still have needed to file paperwork to naturalize him so he could legally enter the US. His parents failed to fill out the apprpriate paperwork and instead they just carried him across the US boarder. He is in the US ilegally and still needs to fill out the paperwork and become naturalized.

To get to the other side?

He’s a sentimental guy. His mother was in Canada and he wanted to be near her at such a special time.

(edit) Whoops… too late with this one…

More important for conservatives is where was he conceived.

Where the Cruz’ screwed up is in not planting the false birth certificates so that he could become President 50 years later.
Plus, Canada isn’t a far away island that makes (dumb) people think that you are from a foreign country.

Obama already laid the tracks and did all of the groundwork, not to mention being President twice. Cruz the birther is too dumb to be an illegal alien or anchor baby, what a maroon.

Wait until we get around to Ted’s Father Rafael Cruz Sr. aka Senor CRAZY! He’s all Jesus all the time, and hates the gays, yet he stepped out on his ā€œtraditional marriageā€ and seems to have completely abandoned his Christian family, and is now divorced? It’s hard to tell since the whole lot of them are such a bunch of fucking LIARS!

[/quote]What is that date on this ā€œvoter rollā€? Ted was born in 1970 I believe. It depends on his mom’s citizenship at the time of his birth and not afterward. Further, there is law describing what is required to be ā€œnatural bornā€ if born on foreign soil. The parents must be married and one must be a citizen and resident for 10 yrs in the US. Five of those years must be after age 14.

See the law as of about 1962 in this history.
Ted’s mom’s citizenship AFTER his birth matters not.

Natural born or not I am not gonna be voting for that arrogant slime ball in any case.
